Subs are most certainly typecast, i think the Coexist sticker comes standard...

In subbies defence, I think they are a nice package. Surprising quality and value. The big blue sti is common on the roads, but I do like a wrx hatchback/wagon. I know a few wrxs in the area here that have been outfitted with the sti chassis - brakes are a big problem on the wrx. I had the pleasure of outfitting a wrx wagon with all the sti stuff, konis, sway bars, big brakes etc. It was tuned to over 300hp and a joy to drive. It was consistantly fast on the track with r-compounds.
Again, a comparison to a 911 is not fair to either car.

All kidding aside, Subie has been effective at finding market niches. They have made an investment in the enthusiast segment, and they are selling at their top end at a 50% premium to their base model. The top end Sti is a great performer massaged from a modest base package model. It's no wonder they have a loyal following.

When I see USDA Prime at Costco, I jump in it.

I had a Cobb Stage II modified '05 STi 2 cars ago. It was a great car, but then I wanted to try a new G37 Coupe which came out about 2 1/2-3 years of owning the STi.

The dealership told me a young kid blew up the motor in the STi - I don't have any details other than he gave the dealership a hard time.

The STi is a pretty good car. Its too much of an aggressive look for me.
So i decided i want two separate cars.
