A few years back, we built the first "R Gruppe" 911 (A '70 w/3.2) in SC. First R Gruppe member in South Carolina I should say. Car is in NJ now IIRC. It had beautiful original Albert blue paint. The new owner posted some pictures of it here on Rennlist last year sometime. I'll find a link if I can.
In the mid-eighties, as a young helper in an indie shop, my first "assignment" was to assist a highly -HIGHLY skilled Porsche tech on the restoration of Peter Gregg's orange 73 RS. I should say, IIRC, it was an "S" with RS bodywork and sport'o'matic. Had some cool factory installed cloth Recaros with orange pinstripes. I was allowed to drive it once and would have absorbed more of the experiance if I knew then what I know now(that goes for so much more in my life LOL). I last understood the car to be in Maryland and was used for a brief sequence in the opening credits of "Dream Car Garage". I know it's made the magazine circuit.
I must say that the HIGHLY skilled tech also constructed the said R Gruppe car and is still building beautiful 911s. He brought me along in my Porsche carreer and I owe him many thanks for the exposure to all thing Porsche. He's still a highly valued friend.

Heck, Do I know you??

So how did you get invited to join if they didn't see your car? Was it because of who built it, because that would make sense to me.
Why I'm asking because I get a kick out of reading the pelican forums posts about the R Gruppe over Robert's shoulder Seems they all think that someone has to see your car and approve to get in.And for them to see your car you have to go to won of their functions. I find that so funny that men would get so riled about this. There are even You Tube video's about the RGruppe. I guess lots of guys with really nice cars that can't get in don't find it as amusing.

I've never tried to get into RGruppe, I don't even know if my car is eligible-probably too "new".
I have a lot of fun in "EGruppe", so I'm good when it comes to Gruppes.

The "newness" of Ruby would be a strick against her, but they do reserve the right to accept late model tributes, and whatever the hell else THEY like...so who cares. We'll start our own friggin gruppe. The Early S registry is a lot less ambiguous.
