looking at a '75S
Im going to look at a 1975 911S in the morning. And wondering what you guys might think a fair price is for it and how some mods might effect value.
It is a sunroof car with 930 flares welded in.
running a 3.0 SC engine 14,000 miles on rebuild
owner says it has 15x7 & 15x9 Fuchs (also comes with a pair of 15x8 too)
the interior is clean but shows some minor wear, owner says it has Carrera seats
Its an A/C car but the drier has been removed to install an oil cooler in its location.
The owner has owned it for close to 10 years and did/had the restoration done ( i think he said this is his 3rd porsche hes had done, besides some early mercedes too)
What do you think a fair price i should pay for it just going off what info i know and posted here?
also do you think the SC engine & carrera seats is better or will it hurt the value?

Something this old is truly judged solely by condition.
Originality doesn't play a role here so you must evaluate everything by who did what and how well everything was executed. One must inspect closely for rust, body damage, look at alignment adjustments to see if the tub may be bent, suspension, brakes, glass, signs of water leakage, etc,.............
In short, a thorough PPI,.....

the car doesnt look bad. it actually looks almost like my 84 turbo look.
its a 930 clone
there is no sign of any collision damage.
the flares were done nicely. he bought the fenders and 1/4 panels and front spoiler at the dealer
it has a 75 930 tail on it
the wheels ended up being 7x16 & 8x16 and a pair of 8x15 comes with it but it needs tires.
the interior is black with carrera seats and turbo badged rear seats.
the 3.0 has 12,000 miles on it #6280867 any idea what year? he said 1983
prior to that he had a 930 turbo engine
biggest downside is the car has been sitting for a year or so not driven at all.

It is very tough to value this car since it is no where near stock. The value is strictly in the eye of the beholder.
What do you plan to do with it?

Hmm I wonder?
as of this morning i own 2 white wide body 911s. It fired right up after sitting, out of the garage, past the other garage (yea he has 2 big garages at his house), around the block, and on my trailer.
Oh and that 356 is all an original 1965 that he bought brand new.
hey, whats the 930 tachometer worth? since it doesnt have a 930 engine any more maybe ill swap out the tach for a regular one

Looks similar to one of the cars I would have done 20 years ago. Glad to see some have survived! Kind of miss the days when you'd hear of a dead 2.7L car that the owner got a $10K rebuild estimate on when the car was only worth that much at most. So for $3-4K I'd have a canvas.

Race Car
The 2.7 cars are still pretty accesable and there are a bunch of 3.0s floating around. These cars can be fun on a dime if a prudent purchase is made. I would take a 74 coupe any day.
