Ed, I didn't do it. Actually Alan at Aase did the cam timing.

I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking, you did say they were building this.

Looks good. It also looks like you too will have fun dealing with the smog *****.

We're actually not finished. We have to put all the smog items back on before we put the engine back in the car....lol No we didn't forget...lol.

If I would have done this myself It would have taken me forever, and I would have aged tremendously.

I wish I could take the credit, but Alan, from Aase Motors, is the true master engine builder in 12 days.

Finished, for now, except for New air filter and some minor cleaning and setting fuel mixture.

It always is nice seeing the big hunk of metal back where it belongs! I'm running mine up to Supertec tomorrow afternoon to pick up my gasket set, some sealants and some of his "RSR" wire holders since I'm gonna have twice as many plugs. Then down to wash the boat on Sunday......then mine comes out in 9 days. The exact opposite end of the spectrum from yours.

Got your message earlier Ed... We still have some tweaking and we have to burn some of the oil out of the Catalytic converter since I had so much oil running through it. 1000 mile break in below 4k rpm then adjust the valves and change the oil and then we're going to dyno the car and change the chip then off we go.

I'll stay in-touch and let me know about how yours goes. I may upload some youtube footage I took of the initial start-up. It was nice seeing the loping from the cam as it settled... kind of a sweet victory feeling.

Let's stay in-touch.

Sure thing. This was fun. I was going to drive it today, but the Aase boys wanted to button it up ., i.e clutch and make sure the Catalytic converter oil was cleared before I started the break-in.

I'll keep you guys posted and thanks for riding along.

The acceleration/deceleration portion of break-in is hugely important to seat the rings well. Do not baby it-the rings need good pressure on the cylinder wall to break in correctly. But, I'm sure the Aase guys know a lot more than I do. Have fun.

No that's good advice Ed. You helped me with a couple decisions along the way believe it or not. The beauty about all of this is we all learn from each other and that's a fact. We are all brethren in this madness. I just feel fortunate and grateful that we are able to do this in this economy.

We'll stay in-touch.

My car is running very, very well now. I put approximately 300 mile on the engine so far, and it is running great. Just a slight ping at 3200 rpm... very very minimal. Jeff actually heard it when he drove the car. I actually can't hear it. That's because of the older Steve Wong Chip for the 3.2. Once I finish breaking it in we'll dyno it and get it re-chipped for the 3.4 and Cam upgrade. Very smooth... running it a little fat until we finish breaking it in.

Great to hear! Be careful on that ping.
