Wow this kit installs real quick in 3 hours I got the fuel rails, wire harness, and sensors installed so I am to the point where the motor goes back in and I can wire everything up and start the testing. So now some pics.

Thumbs up The motors is in

Found out I had some issues, in my endeavors to reduce unneeded wiring I eliminated the wiring for the rear window defogger and lo and behold the CDI unit is powered off the fuse powered by that wiring so I powered it off the new fuse and I will power the EFI off another fuse using a relay and I had a break in the wire that triggers the starter solenoid so I had to track that down and fix it. Now all is back to normal with the old stuff and on to the new and that will be tomorrows story I hope to get the EFI all wired up and a couple hoses made up and add the oil then Calibrate, load defaults and maybe a start this week.

The Bitz EFI and LS-1 are all wired in and programmed and calibrated and talking well to each other but I think I have no joy on the spark so I have to start going thru all that wiring. But for now it is all looking well. I had an issue with some defective fittings on the oil lines but talked to summit and it turned out they had a defective batch 2 years ago about 6 months before I got mine and guess what they replaced them at no charge.
Alot of wiring crammed into a small space it took about 2 to 3 hours to wire everything up and test as I go.

Talking It lives my motor starts

The motor fired right up after I finally got all the right parts (wont go into that) but it took about 15 min. to install the petronix ignitor and turn the key and after 2 and a half years the motor sprang to life and ran albeit very sluggish needs a tune up bad. I had a mouse nest in the muffler I have to get rid of and try it again. WOO HOO

Thanks Marv another 15 min. and a little tweaking to the timing and the thing has a good idle at 900 and 14.2 to 15 for AFR's. I will be in your neck of the woods on the 15th Disney and the Kennedy space center are on the agenda.

i don' tknow much about turbos but isn't 14.2 - 15 AFR to lean for a turbo ? wouldn't that cause it to run hot ? just curios

14.7 is considered to be perfect at idle when a turbo motor is just like a nomally aspirated motor. when in the higher rpm rangesyou are on boost then you want to richen your mixture and retard your timing to prevent detonation but being careful to not wash your cylinders with gas and lose your lubrication, sounds good? I read that all somewhere from some very knowledgable people.

Finishing up odds and ends on the mechanical side, found out that my 30+ year old altenator died good thing I had a spare. Got some of the plumbing in and hooked up I will have a 3 inch suction on the turbo and a 2 1/2 outlet. Taking baby steps I have to get some 93+ octane in the tank and do the ignition timing and go from there. Thinking about powdercoating the pipes smokey chrome what do you think?

Back from 2 weeks in Fl. at disney world and went out and started it up and let it warm up to normal temp and about 30 mins. of static tuning and it is +/- 2 to 3% of ideal all through the rpm range its kinda cool to watch that little ball chase the X in the tuning window while you rev it and then just press burn to ECU.

Got the windshield put back in and Paul Dornburg hooked me up with some software and firmware to upgrade my VE table to a 12x12 map which is very cool for a turbo motor.
