RS38,
Wow, in Germany you have 98 octane fuel? I wouldn't want to pay $240US either, but we have only 92 octane here.

Must be a regional thing? I've been paying $80 or so to fill up my Ridgeline for sometime at a variety of stations, and I've never come across the shutoff at $75.

Ed, are you useing your card as an ATM or credit? With the ATM the sky is the limit at some places...OK not the sky, but it does check funds.

(Spence, send it already!)

I suppose it is that, and it is "other people's money" until the bill comes at the end of the month.

I should set up a program like that with my gas check from work. I know I have credit cards, but I don't even know where my check book is. (wife)....

$95? The most I ever filled in my P cars is @ $60, and that is for 13 gallons of 92. I guess Hawaii no longer has the highest gas prices in the country.

In the UK we have 102Ron (BP Ultimate) Its pricey, but runs well.

Stroppy: (Angry) normally for no good reason, or unjustifiably so, for example; she's in a strop because I forgot her birthday / she's stroppy at the moment because of the incident with me and all those strippers / she gets stroppy every time I blow the mortgage money in the casino, etc etc

California thugs are held in too high esteem to do what you suggest. Also a spotted owl or kangaroo mouse might get hit and raise a Hollywood protest. Texas is a little different story. Huntsville State Prison is where they go if the 7.62x39 is amiss.

Defending the Porsche is also defending a family member---- pretty serious.

We have cut our fuel costs in half over the last few months.

Living 18 miles from Walmart means that we pay $6 round trip to shop ( yeah, Walmart is the place to be seen). That is in the Santa Fe and gas at $4 a gal in Texas. Every trip is combined with lunch, Tractor Supply or the Post Office. Lunch on the lake and the movie next door once a week on old people $5 movie day. The P car car in LA is now at half drive time cause the boy got an $800 street bike and drives only to school and canyon runs.

Had to use the chevy truck to get an engine in Houston and the "really good deal" got close with the $125 in gas. Thank goodness we are unemployed/retired/broke or we would be in real trouble buying gas to get to work.

You know, we have also. I've been to L.A. twice (250 + miles round trip) in the last three weeks. Switched cars with my wife for one of the trips and got about 28 mpg, and the other trip I had to use the F 150, but I drove different. Spent most of the time between 65-70, instead of my usual pace (75-80), and going by just the gauge saved about an eighth of a tank. We've also been consolidating trips, we almost never go to just one place anymore, we "save up" errands until there are two or three to do.

Pete, Ya gotta sell more books.

One of thease days Pete, You have to borrow my car for a weekend and give me a list of what you would do to it. I know what I want to restore, but what would you do. It would be worth the gas and heck, I'd let you drive it for free. How can you beat that offer?
