Magnacor Wires and Funky Smell
So I put in the magnacors today, and boy do I dislike how "fat" they are. I cant cross the wires on the distributor, its so annoying. It looks so disorganized and the leads seem to pop out way easier than beru wires. I took the car out for a drive to test them and I started to smell something funky from the rear of my car. Two things had happened. 1. One of the magnacor wires was sitting on top of the (open) heat exchanger vent (vent because I removed the heater blower/tubes). Also one of the metal bands that holds the heat exchanger crossover pipe had expanded upon heating and snapped. Also the muffler was just put back in and some debris may have been caught in there? I dont know what the smell is about and there seems to be an unusual noise under the engine when I put my head under the car. I will try fixing the crossover pipe band problem to see if it goes away. Those of you with magnacors can you take a picture of your distributor? I cant seem to see how they can all fit well. Also I had a pretty large oil spill and I threw tide all over the floor my garage to soak it up, i'll post pictures it looks like it snowed inside my garage haha. I can't wait to get this done and drive home to see my family Please post some recommendations on what to do with the magnacor wire problem, and if anyone has any idea what the funky smell could be I would love to hear it.

When you put Magnecor wires on, the boot fit is tight at the distributor. "Burp" each one to let some air out and they then fit better. It worked for me.

Ok I'll try burping it, but I don't understand how that will make the wires physically thinner and able to criss cross along the distributor. May'be this picture will illustrate my point....
