Question 912 converted to 993 ???

http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/car/486722371.html

This is a Porsche 993 Carrera widebody conversion. It is a 76 912S frame and has a 2.7 liter rebuilt engine that has under 5000 miles. It is black with black leather interior. Runs great. Serious and in-state inquires only. No financing/payment plans available. More pictures available. Please call Will 336.978.7617

Looks nice from the photos...

you are only paying the balance of the credit card dept racked up for all the 993 parts; the 912S parts are being comped.

When is someone going to open www.frankinporsche.com for guys like this. or a 12 step program to detox. instad of a methadon't clinic, it could be a porschedon't clinic. every time they reach for the tin snips an electric shock wires the brain directly to rennlist and BAM, they are cured.

A 993 for less than half the cost.....why not? If you're trying to impress, the general public wouldn't know the difference. People buy replicars all the time.....

The problem is.....any new Corolla would kick it's *** off the line.....

If it's safe and reliable it would be a much better daily driver than a longhood because of the broader social acceptance. Most people think cars over 8 years old are ready to be recycled or given to the poor but 993 body looks modern enough to reduce that fear.

I've never run into social unacceptance. But mine is not a daily driver, either.

May I submit the following for your website?

The 911SC 3.6 S ("S" stands for "other dumb S%*t added, more money to burn on my car than brains in my head")

Asking a mere $62K. I think that's about $52K overpriced.

LOL! So THAT'S what $70k in upgrades would look like on my car!

...and my wife would STILL consider it to be a finicky out-dated vehicle... I do like the idea of building a 3.0-based 3.6 and setting my 2.7 on the shelf to keep for originality.

Yellow Targa: WOW! Navigation in case you get lost between turn 5 and turn 6 at the racetrack! And a killer stereo for long waits on pre-grid! And a fuel cell in case that "bored out" motor forces you to hit a barrier! Oh, bored out? Hmmmm, a 3.0 is 70.4 mm stroke by 95 mm bore. A 3.6 is 76.4 mm stroke by 100 mm bore. Gee, I wonder how they did that...

The black "993" built on a '76 912S (912E maybe?) frame...that's really interesting, seeing how 900 series P-cars don't have "frames" in the traditional sense. Hmmmmm...
