Very cool! As Flat-6 stated, he sold it to Der. The gaps I am missing in ownership is before Flat. And 1 owner after Der. I have contacted and gotten information from Der and the 2 most recent owners.
Just a cool story this car has been thru for it to finally land in my garage. And it gives me something to do while I wait for my brake light switches to arrive
I bought the car from a dealer in Seattle where I lived at the time also. No records but they said it was a local owner trade in the Tacoma area. It was bone stock.

From what I remember is that one is easily reached with a socket and the other is best reached with a "dog leg" box wrench. Just stuff a rag under the M/C as brake fluid will eat right through the paint. In the grand scheme of things a blind squirrel could do this job.
I guess that's what you get for using cheap *** VW parts
LOL, thanks. The stop light switch replacement went well. Been busy doing little things here and there to it. Driver side window decided to stop working on me a few days ago. Took the the motor out and cleaned it up seems to be ok now.
Got some upgrades planned for the interior and had paint correction and ceramic coating done.
