Ok stubborn!!! dust caps. Can't get them of my front hubs. I've read all the posts. Including this one
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showt...ring+dust+caps
where you use two muffler clamps. Bent the clamps and the damn cap will NOT move. I've tried hammers, clamps, pry bars etc...![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Any other ideas?

I recently did mine, used a punch & hammer, tapped outward as much as possible going around 120-180 degrees, to get the "wiggle" going. Worked fine, just needed to be a little patient.
Make sure you don't drop the outer wheel bearing into the dirt on the ground when pulling the hub off. Not that I would have done that & then had to go get new outers or anything...
Good luck!

I went with Kcs plan also .
i used a single 2" muffler clamp and it fit great in the grove in the cap , cranked her up tight nand it eventually caved.

Thanks for the help guys. Finaly got it done. Bought two more muffler clamps and was finaly able to get them off. Took about 40 min per side!
New rotors, pads, and lines, repacked bearings, and I'm good to go!
The rears are up next.

Congrats.. this is definitely a persistence project. Hope you didn't bang the caps on too hard in case you have to readjust the bearings after the grease settles

Once you know how much banging you have to do and you are comfortable, it becomes easier. It takes a lot of hots all sround the cap to get it moving. Once it starts going, though, it comes off steadily. Good luck! (I use hammer and punch, as someone else also said.)
