Did you try Craigslist? Also, if you can learn to drive a clutch on another car I would suggest that. 911's have a wicked kick back on the clutch as your letting it out. Learn on something that isn't so expensive to replace.
I'm thinking about selling my '80 SC. While an older Porsche would not be my first choice for learning to drive a manual, they are really not that bad.
a smart seller will fudge the year in the box to get it in then clarify the year in the text.
...
Exactly. Also check with both your local PCA chapter as well as their website (national) which posts classifieds. There are always guys out there with well-cared-for SCs turning them over for other Porsches.
i am in NJ.
i am looking for a runner/commuter, not Concours winner. i am thinking about around $15K.
i don't want to turn this into another G50/915 thread, but G50 will be much easier to learn?
thanks
The G50 will be easier to learn, but I would try to learn on another car. Maybe a rental if you can even find any stick cars or trucks for rent. Take and run about 500 miles for a long weekend, including stop & go traffic. A clutch job for Porsche cars starts at $2000.
