Car seat for 911?

Car seat for 911?
I tried searching the archives with little luck. Does anyone know if car seats are available for pre 964/993 cars? My wife is due in less than 8 weeks and I would like to track something down before the kid arrives. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lee

I've read that the Britax Roundabout is the the same seat that Porsche sells for big bucks.
My little one is 9.5 mos old, so I just have a few more months before he can be forward-facing.
My wife won't like him in the front seat, but I tell her that the tub of my 911 is safer than my Camry.

this came up today in the 912 registry for sale forum. sounds about what youre looking for.. if all else fails you can ask the seller if it worked in his 912.

Thanks for the links guys. I am more concerned with whether or not I can find a seat that will fit in the back seat rotated for use as a rear facing seat until the kid is old enough to go front facing. This is my first baby, so I am a little inexperienced with the whole car seat issue. Ideally my Wife, the Baby, and myself will all fit in the 911 together for exciting trips to the local grocery store to pick up more diapers.
Thanks again for the help,

Those rear facing seats really take up room. In my wife's Saab 9-3 (big inside), the baby seat forces the front passenger seat to be more than halfway up to the dash, or the seatback touches the baby seat. No way that thing would fit in my 911.
You may have to park the 911 family car idea until baby is in a booster seat (not sure when that age is...6-7?)

The laws vary by state, but I suspect infants can ride rear-facing in a front seat. Of course, the airbag must be off.
I think the general rule of thumb is that they need to be rear-facing until 20 lbs or one year.

not sure about infant seating, but i made some brackets so my 2.5 year old can ride in his car seat in the back, and still use the clip system, my son absolutely loves to ride in his daddy's "fast car"....i'll send a link in just a minute...i would probably avoid infant seating in your 911 if you don't really need to....

I've had my son in my 78 911 with a Brittax, then a 986S with the Porsche seat and airbag deactivation bar (you really have to be dedicated to drop that kind of coin on a child seat).
Then the back of my 996, and the back of my latest SC only if the wife doesn't go along. Usualy he will ride up front in a booster.

first, congratulations.
second, i would just wait until the baby is old/large enough to be forward facing in the backseat, which is about the only safe place in a 911 for an infant... sorry to say, but your tub is not safer than a Camry...
