I bought a 2.2 E for my 914/6,I tore it down that evening,and I'm a busy real estate person!!!!By the way,a sound 930 motor runs about $8500.He could sell the tubo and the jugs and recoup his 3 grand.Tell the guy to screw himself!

Cory,

A few things.

1. If the engine was sold As-Is you owe the gentleman nothing. I would stick to your guns and offer NOTHING.

2. If you do offer anything (Please check with the lawyers on the board here prior to doing so!) you may be opening up a whole new can of worms. By selling As-Is THEN offering a settlement you may be liable for even more because you are now putting a "Warranty" of sorts on the engine. I've been in all facets of the auto business for years and have seen stuff like this go to court and see the well meaning person have to pay through the nose.

You were open and honest, that's all anyone can ever ask... well... almost
