Do 16x9 fuchs fit the rear of a narrow body carrera without modification? I really want 16x8 but they are proving very difficult to find in the 911 offset. What would be the correct tire size for these rims on the narrow body. My carrera is lowered to 25 and 24.5"
Thx.

If you have a Carrera (wider flares than the 911S of 77) then you can fit either 8 or 9 inch Fuchs back there. (7 in front).
I have a set that I wouldn't mind seeing on another car. While not perfect (concourse), they are exceptionally clean. Been off my cars for some time in the attic.

svb,
For either rim, use a 245/45-16 ...fits great. Fuchs in 8" or 9" widths are expensive, the latter being more so and harder to find, to boot. Both will fit properly in any SC-later rear end. Don't know why you're having probs finding 8s, though? The only other offset I know in a Fuchs 8x16 is the one from a 951 ...for a 911 (with an OEM 911 p/n) there is only one offset, IIRC.

Not a great picture but my car has 7" & 9" fuchs. The backs have no rubbing problems with the 245/45-16 but I had to roll the front fenders to avoid rubbing with the 205/50-16 tires.

Your car from the pic looks lowered beyond "Euro Spec"...am I correct? (EDIT: Duh! I should read better! Your car at those heights you indicated is well below "Euro")
You may have rubbing issues in the rear (and that could cause paint to blister off if severe enough...ouch!), and it will almost certainly rub in the front. If you can find a set of 951 8"s for the front (and they are around..I've passed on many a set), you can run those, but only at certain ride heights. 7" Fuchs will also rub in the front if the car is lowered beyond "Euro," especially on the left front. I run 7" and 8" wheels on my SC (lowered to just below Euro) with 225 F/245 R, and depending on tires I sometimes get some rub in front. Suspension matters as well...if you have stiffer T-Bars and sway bars, it helps.

AHHH thank-you...this is exactly the info I was looking for and was afraid of. You are exactly right I am about 0.5 inch below euro height. I think I will be better off with 8" rims in the back.
Thanks.
