83 SC, 213k miles strong, top-end rebuild @155k miles. Zero engine problems since top rebuild, including 30 autocrosses and one big track day (120mph+for 2hours). Also daily driver. Very strong engine. Keep praying for me!

160K! Needed a clutch at 150K and while we had it out we did the heads just for the hell of it! But the rest of the engine is the what came in it in 1985.

My 82' 911 sc has 117,000 miles. Had New Clutch and Valve adjustments at 100,000 miles. New A/C upgrades, lowered to euro specs., entire brake system, fuel injectors, fuel accumulater, and misc. updates at 115,000. Drive and change oil with Valvoline 20/50 VR-1 Racing Oil every 1500 miles. Runs very strong. I'll be keeping for my entire life. The car will outlive me at this rate!

In 1983 my 77 911S sold at 111,000 miles in need of top end work to the engine. Clutch still perfect.

In 1994 my 81 911SC Turbo sold at 136,000 miles with no need for anything as I rebuilt the engine and turbo around 1986 when 90,000 was showing.

Dan, that was the fastest aftermarket turbo set-up Sam ever put on a Porsche. Remember the trip over by Ft Smith where you gave Phyllis a ride at 150mph.

Dan,
I was going to inquire about the appearance of premature motor rebuilds, but Ron's post says it all.
I couldn't understand why an Sc need a rebuild at 90K. Why kind of boost and WHP where you putting out?
regards,
Steve

1982 SC Targa, 170,000 km = 106,000 miles. Top end rebuild and clutch at 135,000 km, 'usual' upgrades (tensioners, popoff valve), unfortunately on it's third alternator, spends 5 months every winter in the garage. Driver's seat rebolstered last year. Gave up on the A/C and removed about 30 kg dead weight last year as a result. Top needs recovering and wheels need a repaint but otherwise perfect.
These cars should be enjoyed! My friends (and my children's friends who have a clue) have all driven it, my eldest son is welcome to it at any time even though I've witnessed one '5th to 2nd' shift at his hands. Autocrossed regularly.

rbcsaver, the original owner of Dan's car had the Turbo system added. At the time , I lived in Okla. City and knew the guy who had it done. It had relatively few miles and the owner wanted more HP. Dan had a 77S, and as he state it had a few miles and needed an engine overhaul. He traded the 77 for the 81 SC and cash. I think that it was a very good deal for all concerned. Dan, hope you don't mind me answering his question. I don't recall the boost or HP figures, but the car performed very well.
