Wheel and tire size question??
Does anybody know what Porsche wheels will fit on an 1970 911 T? I have a set of 14"/5.5" and a set of 16"/7" that are without tires that came with the car. I want to have the largest set possible in back especially, for track use but want to stay with stock style rims in any diameter. I will be running either DOT or full slicks. Thanks!

6x7x16 are generally considered the largest Fuchs option for non-flared (up to 1978) cars. Of course, there are exceptions. A guy on Pelican has put 15x8's on, all around.
Here's a link.
You can get 2-piece wheels made with Fuchs centers that might get you another half an inch or more.

Since I have a set of 4 X 16"/7" Fuchs anyway without tires I guess I will use those. What size tires have you guys used that fit (wider and shorter the better)?

I was about to buy 205/50/16 all around. I really know how much extra tire is worth on the back of a 911 and would love to get a 225 in the back. Can others chime in here too. Have listers run standard 16/7" fuchs with a 225/50/16 without any rubbing?? I will be running stiffer torsion bars (or coilovers) and will be 2" lower than stock. Thanks!

I bought my '69 911E a couple years ago with 195/70/14 on stock 14 x 5.5 rims and ancient rotten Boge shocks. Since then, I've upgraded to Konis in front, Bilsteins in the back, 15 x 6 deep dish Fuchs, and 195/60/15 Kumhos and stay within the "G Stock" classification for the P.O.C. short track events at Willow Springs.

I have 16x7 Fuchs front and rear on my '70E. I'm using Dunlop sport 8000 tires size 205/55/16. These cars are offset to one side about 1/2" and they all are like this. The problem is on the left side. You'll have to either grind the lip of the fender to about 1/8" as I did, or roll the fender under. I prefer grinding. It does not weaken the fender as some guys claim. If you don't modify the fender the tires will rub. You can do the right side too but to a lesser degree. You need to do about 1/3 of the fender, centering on the top. Rolling the fender works too, but sometimes the paint cracks. Another thing that helps a great deal is the addition of a Weltmeister front stress bar. It controls the camber and makes the whole front end very solid.

So MRFLATSIX, is the front offset too? Can you space the Rt side out more to compensate? I am with you, I would rather cut than fold! I have done both and feel much more confident saving the paint with a good saw blade and lots of cool wet towels on the fender!
