come on , kinda looks cool and period correct without it

rather than a pic of the car , a pic of the other mirror might have helped.

DC automotive ? LA dismantlers ? these are two places off the top of my head.

ll the flag mirrors mount the same 74 through 89, Assuming that is what you have, so you could source a used mirror and install it. To do so you will need to drill the mounting holes in the door. Do not use the drivers side mirror location as reference, they are not mounted symmetrical left to right. There is a template in the Factory Work Shop Manal the specifies hole location, or find another car with a right mirror that you can use to create a template for the hole locations as. Then you may need to add the wiring and changeover switch if you want it to operate electronically.

If it were my car I would be inclined to leave it as originally delivered, without the right hand mirror.

My '69T has only the basic early round driver's side mirror, and I keep it that way for sake of originality. But those early round Porsche mirrors were placed too far forward, and it frankly feels dangerous. I have to drive with my head on a swivel, 100% of the the time.

I agree that it looks great with just the one mirror and adding a right one involves some serious cutting so I would not do it

These cars are barely survivable on today's roads. In a collision in today's traffic, regardless of fault, the odds are very high that you will lose, and probably badly. I can put up with a little "Not-period" if it means I am less likely to write off the car, with me inside it.

I'd get the mirror, and I wish I could tell you where to source it.

On some racecars, yes. On street cars, they were on the door from the beginning, as also for the 356.

those are my thoughts exactly, as much as I would love to leave the car as "period" correct as possible I'm planning on driving this car a lot more than the previous owner and roads in Los Angeles (Santa Monica/Venice Beach) is just way too hectic to risk it. The shop (Haydon Brothers) in Anaheim had suggested I get a wider rear view mirror as a compromise as well which I'm considering.

Same, if adjusted just right it works ok. The key is the rear mirror adjustment, most adjust facing the driver too much, if adjusted right it really gets the ‘right hand’ view quite well.

Also, when driving these old 911s, you have to be like motorcycle driver aware of your surroundings.

I don’t really miss the right had mirror.

I think I'm going to need to do that since its literally impossible to source a passenger mirror somehow
