911SC stock shifter height please?
My 911 is in for windows out paint. Since the interior is stripped, I was toying with getting a RENNLINE short shift when the new interior goes in. Can someone measure the stock shifter height? I'd check on mine but paint is an hour away and painter is on vacation. Rennline will be 16" to the top of the **** from the floor. Thanks.

Correct, but I am trying to gauge how much taller is the RENNLINE v. stock in height from floor to ****. I do not want it looking awkward.

i have a lever i was going to check for you but i dont think it will help much , as you know it is installed in a box which them bolts to the floor. I guess you need someone with a stock one to get out a tape measure from the floor.
I have never heard it looks bad though , no images on google you could have a look at ?

Yup no reviews that I have found and it's been around a while. Maybe the price point has scared folks off. Always good to be the guinea pig. ;D It does look sexy - made me rethink recovering my center console and relocating my AC controls to the metal knee pad I picked up from RENNLINE as well.

yeah many rip that centre console right out .. but that's a good point, then what do people do with the AC controls, unless they come out with the crap AC to lighten the car.

install all new bushings including the coupler bushings in delrin from the 914 with a perfectly round hole (rather than the factory oblong) then get the factory short shift kit and you will be all set. NO REASON to change to a rennline

so on a related note .. why is the factory one oblong. ? would make sense its round as tight as a ..well you know the rest. Mine is the factory oblong one with factory short shift and zero issues, but i have wondered what it wasn't tighter

Actually did all the bushings when I replaced the coupler with Stomski's. Currently my shifter has a tendency to hit the driver right bolster in 2nd gear (short legs I suppose). I've already managed to nick the new piping on the new seat covers once. I could attempt to heat up the shift lever and straighten it a tad, but I did that once on a TR4 - it was no fun getting it right.
