Tire advice for 16" fuchs (front 205/55r 16) (rear 255/50r 16)
The bridgestone potenzas on my targa are from 2004 so I have started to shop for tires.
front 205/55r 16
rear 255/50r 16
This size seems to be pretty rare. What did you put on yours?
Thanks!

Which model 911 are you running with these tyre sizes?
My 1988 Carrera 3.2 CS has same size fronts - 205/55ZR16 but has 225/50ZR16 0n the rear.
I had Bridgestone S02 tyres that were past their best and now have Pirelli P Zero Rosso. The Pirellis are really good on the street and much more progressive than the Bridgestones in my view; however, on track the Pirellis start to go off after a few laps as they get too warm and the handling becomes much less predictable.

I am in the Portland Oregon area. I would rarely if ever drive this car in the rain as this Targa is not seaworthy from slight window gaps and a poor top seal. 40deg-80deg would be the range of typical driving. The car is more of a weekend touring and not likely to ever see a track or auto-x.

I put Firestone FIrehawk Indy 500 on my 85 cab. Apparenty they are a rebranded Bridgestone at a much lower price. I love the retro look with the sidewalls and I think they are plenty sticky, especially on decreasing radius corner the front bite well and give me info at the limit.

The question is what Fuchs wheels are you running 6 and 7s x 16s 6 and 8 x 16s or 7 and 8 x 16s or even 7 and 9" x 16s like later 930s cars.
If your running the 7" front and 8" rear say on a Carrera the stock set up is 205/55 16 and Rear on 7" is 225/50 -16
If you got the wider deep dish 8" on the rear then you can do the 245/45 -16 that is correct for the 9" but works on the 8" x 16.

255/50 x16 is not only an odd size it is also an acceleration killer, I don't even have listings for that size except for some specialty track oriented tires
