Default 1983 911sc dies occasionally

I have a 1983 911sc. It runs great most of time but occasionally while driving when you let off accelerator & pushing clutch the car dies immediately. When this happens the rpm drops to zero immediately. It doesn't happen often but when it does it seems to happen a couple times back to back. The engine starts up immediately when letting out the clutch.

silver ignition coil ?
also check idle adjustment, sometimes you can turn it a fair bit before idle goes up, turn it until idle goes up than back it off until you reach proper idle.

not sure but i can tell you silver coils suck ... it may not be the answer but this is a generally accepted fact.

Agreed. It seems only the original black Bosch coils are any good.

make sure that the air flow meter flap is centered and that the decel valve is working properly

The decel valve seems to be working. We adjusted air flow flap & it seems to be working.

Thanks
