Haven't tried it myself but I love the idea. It's great for paint removal without damaging the metal, and the medium disappears on its own so all you're left with is dried paint dust.

A shop in San Diego specializes in this, I’ve watched them do a few cars and the results are really impressive.

I used steam cleaning with great results. I’m curious If dry ice does a better job.

Apparently its safe on paint - wont remove it. I am getting it done here in Houston but having to rent the equipment. It's a bit expensive so if anyone in Houston wants to split and do 2 cars let me know.

no mud and no water. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide that turns to a gas upon impact. All that is left is dry contaminants from the car.

I had it done to a stripped car to clean things up - overall it went well.

i've heard nothing but good things about it .. aside from the cost and finding someone to do it of course.

The results are absolutely amazing. I don't understand why this method is so hard to find and so difficult to get shops to want to use.
If I could find someone who I trust to do this... I would ship them my car ASAP to get it done.
Unfortunately, the only places near me have either never heard of dry ice blasting, or they use it only to clean oil refineries and other industrial applications.

I'd even be willing to take a road trip somewhere to have them do this to my 30 year old car.

actually the cost is incredibly reasonable given what you would pay to get the same results with labor and elbow grease plus chemicals etc. $1500 is a bargain when you look at it that way.

I'm in Houston. I have a group that specializes in dry ice blasting but typically Only industrial applications. However they will do it for me if I can find one other car. in other words they want to do two cars minimum. Anyone want to get in on this in Houston?
