Not sure why this thread hasn't been closed?
I called it and stated this time and time again. He had no clue to what he was doing focusing on all the wrong things when making a quality casting. When he started taking money for the cases and the total sales covered what he claimed he had into the project I figured he was getting out. No foundry control or proper testing of the castings. Selling a quality level he could not prove. He switched processes after he got his money and then I suspect he had issues. 100% core sand casting has an entirely different set of problems over green sand. I could see it all unfolding but tried not to step on his toes. He did come out on other threads and he made stuff up as he went along.
I had discussed him with Spyerx who was going to visit him just before the S4!t hit the fan and I expressed I thought he was going to do this before it happened. I am not sure why so many are confused by it. Everyone was so impressed but if you know foundry work you knew he was bound to fail.
IB can we please shut this down.

I'm not sure there's much value in closing this thread?
Keeping it up at the minimum it gives the victims involved a place to discuss, vent. and provide updates (if any).
At best, perhaps collectively a solution will present itself...
It will also serve as a cautionary tale for similar situations in the future.

I was first on the list for 2 cases and made 2 down payments of $1250 for a price of $5000 per case in March of 2019. In November 2019 he approached me and said that my 2 cases were ready to ship and if I could pay the remainder of the total cases price of $7500 which I did (I know I should have known better). Then the delays and excuses came. At some point I was done with the excuses and I made made numerous demands to get my money back both by email, mail and text/phone to no avail. Then there is the story of the layshaft which I also paid in full another $2,492.56, I also demanded my money back after he failed to deliver and he sent me $1250 back.

From the outside it is stunning that someone can take this amount of money and seemingly walk away unscathed.
I feel for those that got ripped off so badly.

Since Adamo seems to be MIA, maybe contacting his business partner Philip L. Liberatore, CPA at his place of business will gain some traction. Considering his line of work, he might understand the grievances.

I'm really proud of you guys...we Europeans sometimes think that all US issues are "solved" with guns...but reading all the fraud that guy/company inflicted on all of you victims by taking your money for nothing in return...Makes me proud to notice he's still 'out there somewhere'...although legal action against him indeed seems the only way forward...

I figure he took in close to his original claimed expenses of $280k.
This will go on forever and I doubt he will ever supply the cases promised. Even if he did I wouldn't trust his product. As I said I reached out to him to help him with the obvious mistakes he was making but had no interest in hearing what I had to say. He made some tall claims and has no way to prove what he is doing will last. His product clearly does not meet the requirements to be considered "Aircraft Quality Aluminum". He uses terms loosely which require extensive and continual testing which would increase the cost exponentially. I for one would rather spend up for a used case or new one from Porsche than trust what he was making. The rough surface finish of the casting shows his foundries inability to make a quality product. The finish is the result of not being able to vent the gases from the core sand mold properly. This can result in porosity in the material that might never be seen until it fails. He tests only for hardness using Rockwell vs Brinell which won't be an accurate test the way he is inspecting them. Hardness is the one thing the material spec allows to be out of range. There is no testing for chemical composition or UTS. There is no radiographic or dye penetrant testing being done. He also has no reinforcement bars for heat treating. When these get heat treated you have a limited time to quench to get the proper mechanicals and in most cases like this will get a warp or twist in the casting if not properly reinforced. The other option is to have the casting straightened immediately after the quench and prior to the artificial age. If they slow quench it, well now we have an entirely different set of issues.
I will unsubscribe to this as it is getting tiring and should have been handled by IB a long time ago.

I think that's pretty much it. Would you trust this guy with...anything?
There's either enough money that someone will come after him...or not. Either way, I don't see anyone trusting their $30k+ engines with his block.
If Porsche is listening...there's money to be made here...
