Ok, I rounded down. They're $11.35 at Amazon.

I realize its going to be more expensive than the stock watch, but when a place like this
http://www.americanlogowatch.com/cas...s/MQ24-1E.html
will do the work for $30 a watch, it makes $120-$140 seem incredibly high.
I hate to say it, but if your costs are really going to be that high - then I'd say you are getting the very sore end of the deal.
Obviously, if you do a more complicated personalization it will be spendier. It still comes no where near that $120-$140 mark though. I can get a single one done for myself for less than that. Half of that cost would be more reasonable . . .maybe.
I think you're forgetting that it doesn't take many additional orders to knock the setup costs effectively out of the picture.

I think you've got a good idea here. Hopefully this will help you, and the others, save a couple bucks.

Ummm. Didn't we just have custom watches made? Pretty sure that is what is on my wrist right now. Google Valencia Time Center and see the watch on his home page. Get the metal band option for the extra $$. That way you get three bands.

Jeff,

I think he saw that watch already... Price is the issue... That said, you get what you pay for!

Ummm......you didn't read my original message. I mentioned the other watch and that I couldn't afford it - which is why I designed something much less expensive. Sure, for $1k, I could design something that would blow your socks off, but I don't have an extra $1k to spend, so I personally don't want to design something I can't wear/use myself.

The other watch is nice, I'm sure, I just can't afford it.

Ethre,
I'm extremely aware of what everything costs.....I've obviously done all the research to get this far. There are factors you aren't including, such as shipping. I don't know how many people would buy one, so I'm not going to stock 10, 20, 50 of these to save on shipping, hoping they will all sell. The "estimate" is only an "ESTIMATE!". Yes, I'm familiar with that company too, and there are additional fees for a custom watch. Every change is another $20 fee, etc. My final price may be $80, 100, 120, I just don't know yet because I haven't determined the demand for this watch yet. The higher the quantity, the lower the cost of the watch.
I'm not going to debate or argue this with you. It's useless. If you want to design your own watch, DO IT! ugh....

Sorry for my rant...

I personaly prefer the combination swiss/german and an aligator band but that would be around the $750 mark.

My designs will be shown if there is enough interest in the project.
Take my word, it will not be TAKY.

So go ahead, tell me what you would like to have...

To give you an idea of prices, a german watchcase is $200.

Well, here's your original post. Since the photos are no longer attached to the earlier posts from 07, just how am I supposed to know what you were working on or that your design was anything like the one I am wearing now?

That is not his original post. See post #54.

He probably should have just started a new thread, but you're confusing him with the OP from three years ago.

Default 928 clock?

Hey guys I had a idea in my 928 tonight. What about wrist watch looking watch face for our 928 clocks? I know that is limited to OB's and maybe GTS's, but I like how Bentley's have Breitlings and I saw a picture of a Bugatti prototype with some other (Ultra) high end clock that also pops out and is a wrist watch.

Just thinking, why not a watch face and hands from the watch company that made those 928 watches? The face and hands should be much cheaper than a whole watch. There's a sandwich dial from Panerai that is really cool. Add the glow in the dark hands and numbers, etc. What do you all think? I have a broken extra circular clock I can donate to the cause for measuring, etc.

Here's some examples. Making a face and hands should be a lot easier than a watch. I'd like the watch brand on the face for this one.

So.....What do you all think?
