Default 928 wristwatch!?

Hey guys

I have been toying with the idea if having a 928 watch made.
I have a design for the dial and contacts for the movement/case and band.
The quality/price depends on whether it is all chinese, japanese, german, swiss or a mixe there off...

I personaly prefer the combination swiss/german and an aligator band but that would be around the $750 mark.

My designs will be shown if there is enough interest in the project.
Take my word, it will not be TAKY.

So go ahead, tell me what you would like to have...

To give you an idea of prices, a german watchcase is $200.

There are a lot of watches uner $100 that are not junk. It would be very hard to say what I would pay without knowing the make, style, quality, and generally what it would look like overall. I for one don't have a ton of money to spend on watches.

You forgot to add $0.00 as an option. I, like many people these days, don't wear a watch. My phone is my pocket watch.

Not trying to slag your poll, just pointing out that there should be something other than <$100.00.

If you use the word "Porsche", the term "928" or the Porsche logo, you'll make new friends with Porsche's lawyers. Keep that in mind.

W/o a rendering or pic . . . . ZERO.

Jees, I just read that watch sales have dropped since 2001, attributable to the above-mentioned cell phone. Now I feel old. I still wear a watch and my cell is off half the time.

I don't think you will find many of us geezers that will go over $100 for this.

Dan: In sum, it is a good idea, but probably not viable.

You gotta show the design first. We all have different ideas what it "might" or "should" look like, so more specifics would be appreciated. Thanks

I'd be interested but only as a novelty type watch and probably only if < $100.00.

Something cool to wear to a "Porsche" or "928" event.

Porsche Design produces nice watches. If we demonstrate decent interest, they might be willing to do something for us. If you look at Tequipment, I believe they presently sell 356, turbo, etc. themed watches. Just a thought; however, this is definitely not the sub-$100 watch.

Along those lines, does 928OC offer a logo-watch?

Well I'm a watch enthusiast (sounds like you are too) and depending on the design, would definitely buy a 928 watch. Price would depend on the design and the movement, and custom watches can run into $$$$$ if you really want something special.

Chinese movement? No more than $200 depending on complications - tourbillon doesn't count. Swiss? mucho-dinero. German or US movements are somewhere in between. I've got a beautiful Seiko that I wear a couple days a week that runs in the $200 range and is great value. But you've got to like watches.

I understand that this is just information-gathering at this point, Dan, but if you intend to move forward with organizing an actual buy in the future, you must be a paid Member to do so.

Thanks for your replys.

I guess I will drop it like a hot potato, a novelty watch was not my plan for this.
Din't know that Breitling made a "shark" watch; funny, I was going to call mine the "928 SHARK EDITION".

If hever I make "one of" for me, I'll let you know.....

I know you guys would of like to "SEE" but I was just checking how much you were willing to spend on a watch and then see if I could have it made for that price. The design is unimportant at this point, it would have been shown before it was made. Nobody is asking to sign a contract here.
