Alternator cooling tube and AC sensor questions

I picked my 928 up from the body shop (Nose repaint and bumper shock..etc replacement) and while driving it home I noticed that when I pulled into the toll booth at the Turnpike that the engine sounded terrible. Less than a mile to home so I chanced it and drove on.
After assuming the worst, I started it up again at home to see if I could diagnose what I was hearing. Turned out that my belly pan was loose at one end, so it was vibrating with the engine. And this.
The alternator cooling tube was not connected to the shroud and it was hitting against the alternator belt and fan.

Whew! That was easy. THANK YOU 928 GODS!!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
Now here's my questions.
1. Does the cooling tube need a clamp to hold it on the shroud?
2. Three weeks ago before I dropped my car off at the bodyshop I had my AC recharged and it was cooling fine. Last night driving it home, no cold air. Could it be that because the cooling tube wasn't connected to the shroud, cause the AC temp sensor in the tube to malfunction and not let the AC work properly? (I do realize that I could have a leak in my AC though.)

1. No clamp on the cooling tube.
2.Not likely the cooling tube had any effect on the A/C. Check to see if the compressor is turning with the A/C on and the engine running. If it does then check the sight glass on the drier for bubbles.

Yep, tried to post but had to re-log in ![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
You don't need the cooling tube for the sensor to work, and also I have never seen a clamp in the plactic alt shroud, dont think it would do much if you had one.
