Default Turbo S Style Ducts, Fog light replacements

Just received these today. Purchase off eBay, they come with 55 watt halogen bulbs. I want to put 3000K HID’s. Anyone here done this already?
Thanks, D

Its been done, there is room behind the bumper. Here is the reference to do it with halogens, just swap HIDs instead. I might do something like that this winter (I wrote the original article).

Take a look at these threads on converting your fogs to HID:

Be sure to replace the lamps with a high quality Hella projector setup ... well worth the effort

My recommendation, toss the fog lights you got with the kit and install some mini morimoto's. It'll fit and the light output will be much improved over those fogs.
It'll be a bit more work though.

^^^

Agree completely. The lights that come with them aren't so great but the fiberglass piece is pretty nice. Be careful with the tiny screws and metal light clip that holds the bulb in. They beak or strip pretty easily.

Disregard what the seller says (primed) make sure you prime them before painting.

I bought the same ones. Didn't like the lights (how do you replace those bulbs? why is the lens loose?)
so I replaced them with Hella Micro DE fog lights. Snaped the existing lights off (held on with epoxy), trimmed the opening a little and it all worked out. Will post pics.

Just ordered an HID kit (H3) from DTM and plan on installing that to match the headlight color.
Wish I thought about that before I installed the fogs.............Oh well

I did this recently. 3000K is a great light output.

I was thinking of purchasing an OEM set of these. They cost $45.00 more than the ebay ones for the pair through Sunset. Does anyone know if the oem have better lights in them? thanks Doug

I got the ebay ones for $200, but if you have bumperettes you have to trim the fiberglass tab a bit. I installed them tonight, but haven't hooked up the light yet.

I'm going to do it when I install the HID kit.

The OEM ones do not have fog lights, just the little 5w city light.

I agree the eBay ones are nice, but the fog lights are not the best. I do want to upgrade mine.
