Default Porsche GT4 RS / Spyder RS | OEM Exhaust Explanation

We give you a total rundown and explanation of the factory OEM GT4 RS exhaust and compare it side by side with our full GT4 RS exhaust system. RENNKRAFT™ Long Tube Header System and our Valvetronic X-Pipe Cat-Back Exhaust System.

I don't have the full Rennkraft system on my 4RS but I have the Fabspeed non resonated OAP's and Valved Rear section which I love. It definitely gives the fancier titanium/inconel exhausts a run for their money in terms of high pitch sound at half the cost which is what I wanted. It's interesting though to see that the 4RS full Fabspeed system makes more power on the dyno than the GT3 full system.

Here's a sound clip of my setup:

In this video, Joe Fabiani explains how our RENNKRAFT™ Long Tube Header System for the GT4 RS and Spyder RS is the ultimate exhaust upgrade for those cars.

Are these exhausts intended to be heard over the SRS intakes? Or more for folks outside the car? (Besides any power gain, of course)

You can hear both, it simply enhances both!

Gain more power, and sound and save significant weight.

Simply replace the restrictive factory over axle pipes to increase power, save weight, and add a throatier more aggressive GT3 engine tone. Just like the regular GT4, our Over Axles are a perfect first modification and logical upgrade. Our design process started with 3D scanning the entire exhaust system using our CREAFORM 700 Handscan so that we could make a complete Solidworks 3D model of the exhaust. We then designed the exhaust and fixtures using that model so that the exhaust fit perfectly to OEM standards. At Fabspeed USA we then IN-HOUSE mandrel bend on a UNISON limited CNC aero-space all-electric tube bender (no outsourcing) T304 stainless steel tubing that’s 40% larger than the factory for maximum flow. The heat shielding has a stainless steel shell, with a ceramic fiber core that can handle a continuous 2400 degrees Fahrenheit and is an extremely effective insulator.

SOUND:

These Over Axle Link Pipes will bring out a stronger throatier tone from your GT4 RS. The difference in volume and tone is amazing and simple to install and or remove.

POWER:

With an otherwise stock exhaust and no tune, we gained 30 HP at 4750 RPM and 34 ft/lbs of TQ at 4750 RPM. That's a gain of 33 HP at the crank! Peak horsepower also increased from our baseline of 456 WHP to 474 WHP and from 330 ft/lbs of TQ to 341 ft/lbs of TQ. See our dyno graph above for more details.

FEATURES:
  • Fits all Porsche 718 GT4 RS 2022+ Models (Except EU Models- IF YOU have a European Union model CONTACT US!)
  • Choice of a resonated/ muffled or non-resonated configuration. Resonated is a straight-through mini muffler that is slightly quieter.
  • Impressive dyno-proven power gains of 30 WHP and 34 ft/lbs of TQ
  • Save -12 lbs / 5.4 KGs compared to the stock pipes.
  • Constructed from mandrel bent T304L stainless steel
  • Much less restrictive than the factory over axle pipes
  • Bi-layer heat shielding consisting of a ceramic fiber core and stainless steel shell
  • Heat shielding can handle up to 2400F / 1300C
  • Designed from 3D scans of the OEM headers so we can achieve perfect bolt-on fitment
  • We use German-made HJS HD tri-metallic 200-cell EURO 6 homologated catalytic converters for the best performance and reliability
  • NO catalyst-generated check engine light (CEL) guaranteed (Except EU Models)
  • No ECU tune required
  • Simple bolt-on installation, no cutting or welding required (Watch our installation video)
  • All Fabspeed performance products are backed by the Fabspeed Lifetime Warranty

NOTE: After testing with less heat shielding we saw no difference in suspension damper temperatures. Thus they may come with less heat shielding than pictured, or use hose clamps instead of welded-on heat shielding. this will not affect performance.

Yes it does not throw a check engine light or tell the computer anything has changed with an OAP in California/America. You will only get a check engine light if you change headers.

@cooler2442 is correct, US cars do not have monitored Gasoline Particulate filters. You may remove them without issue!

However, you actually can remove your factory headers, IF you move the cat downstream into the OAP. The post cat O2 bung is actually after the GPF on the factory set-up.
