Looks like the aptly named SFL Emden is at Emden, curious to see if my spyder has a spot on the ship!

If anyone has a car coming to Davisville, RI - there is a chance I might be able to spot it and send you a picture. I live 10 mins away and cruise through frequently

Will be curious to see how the collapsed bridge in Baltimore impacts any of Porsche's logistics.

Do they use the Baltimore port? It didn't seem to be a port listed on the shipping lists shared earlier in the thread. It was crazy to see the bridge just collapse completely and horrible that people (most likely) lost their lives because of it.

Yeah, very ****ty situation. Although it sounds like bridge authorities rushed to limit more traffic from using the bridge before it collapsed when they got the distress call from the ship, so that's good.

As for usage, I don't know if Porsche docks at Baltimore, but I believe BMW does. That might have some knock-on effect if they now have to use a different port.

Edit: More here with impacts on Mercedes, Ford, and GM:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ridge-collapse

Not surprisingly, it sounds like the ripple effects will be wide.

Looking for some input on what is going on, since this is the first Porsche I have ordered with the TYD function. Not sure what is going on since the expected end of production date was 3/25 and it is now 3/27. The last update was 3/7, so does it mean there will be an extended delay and they don't have an updated schedule? The remaining schedule says 3/30 port entry and 4/1 departure with a 4/17 arrival at port Baltimore. This tracks the schedule for the Violet Ace according to the PWL site. Any ideas on what is happening? Thanks!

If the system is correct, then your car didn’t finish production. This is very possible. There have been production delays with this car.

Have your sales agent check his system to see what his side shows. Dealer system is always most accurate.

Hey, hard to estimate exactly what is going on for certain - but my TYD did that multiple times and every time it updated a few days later with a new (later) estimated date for production to end. The “last updated” date didn’t change from 1/23 until 3/22 when my car was finally complete. If I had to wager, your production date will be bumped back until it is eventually complete. Just my two cents and not 100% what will happen, only going off my own experience. When did your car go into production originally?

Great! I will go bug my SA when he comes back from vacation and see what his system says. The car went into production 3/7 so hopefully the delay won't be too long.

My GT4 RS got a nother delay of 20 days today .... 3 weeks ago there was another 20 days delay.
Initial delivery was 3/20 .... Now is 5/24.... I hope that the car is better than Porsche logistics... My last brand new car was a Lotus and even being 4 drunk british in a garage they were way more accurate than the praised Poooorrrrrssssche...

LMAO... Lotus more accurate??? Far from the truth. I have an inbound Emira that is on a ship at the moment. Lotus communication is a joke. I placed a deposit on 7/06/21, the day it debuted. I had first round of allocations for the first edition. Delay, after delay and lie after lie... worst car buying experience ever. They screwed up the CARB certification to top it off. Oh another thing... all communication is from the dealer, not Lotus themselves, another huge flaw. The last three years has been a waste. Porsche has been way more accurate through the process.

I think they were hoping you would cancel your order. Those cars have appreciated a lot.

I bought an exige V6 and it was right on time....with the emira you are testing the new facilities ....Porsche with the 718 has no excuses...ages manufacturing them..
Communication ? First delay was supposedly due to "especial" transport ...12 days later it was due to carbon parts shortage ... 5 days ago they told me it was sorted ... Today TYD shows 20 more days of delay ...epic and crisp communication
and again... we are talking about lotus not the almighty and holy Porsche ...
With the V6 I got several pictures of the process ..here.. even being a 200k euros car not even a damn picture ...

And all the comm from the Porsche dealer...unless you consider the crappy and inaccurate 20 days interval TYD stages as a comm
