I had DeMan Motorsport do it when then did all the mods they did, so I don't have any tips for you. I don't even know what it looks like underneath there in that area.

Thanks, Pete!

Yes, this weather has been complete crap for the last few weeks.

Thankfully the 718 is up on the lift on a trickle charger.

The Golf R DSG is turning out to be an AMAZING winter beater. Modded to 400+ HP with a Stage 1+ Unironic Tune and Intercooler. KW Coilovers. Milltek Exhaust. Unitronic Dogbone Mount to tighten up the Chassis. H&R Rear Sway Bar. MST Intake. (The first pic under the lift is before the coilovers.)

I guess that proves that I am a little crazy and can't seem to help modding the crap out of any car I buy, LOL! It is a sickness...

Performance winter tires too. This thing is a beast in the Snow! Haven't tried the Drift Mode yet.

(Obviously the pics above were taken before the crap weather put about 30 days of dirt and salt on the car! But it still looks great.)

Update here - I have decided to sell this glorious car. After getting the Golf R above and modding that for the street for an all year round car, I have decided that I want to focus my investment into the race track activities - race cars and running costs.

That proves that for me it is all about the journey itself, and not about the destination, LOL!

The listing is here:

I've also enjoyed your journey, it's been exciting to follow. If you were local, I'd be seriously considering your car.
If I ever am in the position where the GTS is not my only car and have the privilege to use it only for pleasure drives, I hope to make my own GT4 touring. You've provided an amazing blueprint for that!

Thank you both! I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my adventures with everyone here for the last four years, across 5 718 4.0's. And of course in my early days here in 2021, I learned a LOT from everyone here.

The 718 adventure will not at all end - I have absolutely loved the Caymans on the Street and on the Track. I am just going to focus more so now on the track activities going forward. My 987 Cayman Track Car has been amazing, but ultimately my goal is to get a 718 GT4 Clubsport for the Track.

My 718 Cayman journey will continue in full force!

The Golf R is a 2024.

They haven't cracked the TCU yet on the 2023/2024 MY's, they have for the 2022. I have a Unitronic Stage 1+ Tune with the Torque held back a bit to protect the DSG. When they crack the TCU, I will get a TCU tune, and then I can go to a more aggressive Stage 1+ ECU Tune.

I like the DSG quite a bit, I was surprised. It is a poor man's PDK in my opinion. Better than the ZF Auto in the BMW's, in my experience, especially if you are used to the PDK, as I was. (Both from my 718 GT4 PDK from last year, and the 2012 Cayman R PDK in my Race Car.)

Pete, thanks so much for all of your help in so many ways. You taking a blindfolded leap off of the deep end saved me a lot of money and time on my GTS/4 Touring project. I really hope that the Golf fits what you need and continues to make you happy. What did you decide to do with your GT4 bumper? Did you put it back on the car or going to sell it separately? Best of luck with all of your future adventures.

Glad I could help! That was fun doing the builds together and learning from each other.

I am going to sell the NR Auto front bumper kit separately. I will list as for sale again on the Marketplace here. Thanks for the reminder, LOL!

Pete, sorry to read you're selling and quite surprised as well. To be honest, deep down after all this long journey consisting of many cars and many mods I was hoping you'd end up owning a 718 as your track car lol
