Description:
Posting here for sale my 2023 Cayman GTS 4.0 in GT Silver with the Full Bordeaux Red interior, which I built out into a "GT4 Touring sort of spec, and chronicled here:
Cayman GTS 4.0 Build Thread
The MSRP was $116,020, plus a $5K ADM. See pics for the exact detail of the spec - very highly optioned.
I have over $170K into the build, which I can document. (Not including the Sales Tax on the car.) The real prize here in this car is the DeMan Gearing, it is amazing and completely transforms the car!
It arrived at the dealer in August of 2023, and went straight to DeMan. I received it in late September. It has less than 2300 miles on it. No accidents, clean CarFax, no major dings or scratches.
Here is a list of the investment into mods for the car:
- Deman Shorter Gearing
- Deman Tune
- Kline Inconel Exhaust
- Soul Street Headers
- OEM GT4 Side Vents
- Frog Venom Ducktail Spoiler
- Suncocast OEM GT4 Rear Diffuser Kit
- Glass Engine Cover
- CF Interior Parts from Automotive Passion
- OEM GT4 Short Shifter Kit
- SportShifters Shift ****
- ZunSport Front and Side Vent Grills
- TPC Rear Toe Links
- Full Body PPF
Reason for selling is because after getting a Golf R and modding that for the street for an all year round car, I have decided that I want to focus my investment into the race track activities, race cars and running costs.
Thank you!
-Pete
For me these days, street cars are for the street, track cars are for the track. (In 2022 I drove many sessions on a Boxster GTS 4.0 Manual and then later a GT4 PDK, and learned that I didn't like beating up a nice pristine street car on the track.)
The miles are all to and from the track, and sunny day weekend drives on the off-season.
Also to mention - I used a different set of wheels and tires in the fall when I first got the car, and then went to All-Seasons over the winter on the Stock Wheels. So the stock tires I will put back on when the car is sold will have very few miles on them.
For anyone interested in the cost of the shorter gearing, it was $9,850 for the parts for the re-gearing, $1,320 for the labor. The gearing is their 2-5 short gearing option, well documented on the Forums here. It is amazing!
The Tune was $2,100. It is great, it basically turns the GTS 4.0 into a GT4 power wise, and then some, raising the Redline from 7800 to 8000 RPMs - remember, there is zero difference between a GTS 4.0 and a GT4/Spyder hardware-wise in the engine, it is just the software/tuning difference that makes the GTS 4.0 394 HP and the GT4/Spyder 414 HP. Of course the tune goes above the 414 HP. I never had it dyno'ed, but it is noticeably quicker, I had owned two previous GTS 4.0's, a GT4 and a Spyder. Also the tune acts as a valve controller, providing the option for valves open all the time when the PSE is on, which sounds much better than the stock PSE operation of having them closed up to 3800 RPMs which is maddening and sounds horrible. Having that built into the tune avoids the need to wire the valves open, or buy a separate valve controller.
That said, if the buyer prefers the stock tune, I can have my local shop flash that back on.
I had DeMan Motorsport also install some of the other things on the car, like BMC Air Filters, the OEM GT4 Short Shifter, Wind Diffusers, Exhaust, Headers, Rear Toe Links, etc. The total bill from Deman was $17K and change.
