Oh well, to each their own. Still ecstatic about my build and I'm sure I won't notice the difference in lightness. As for brake dust, if anything it will "force" me to keep the rest of the car looking pretty, too .

..... however, I did ask my SA to see if PCCB could be added after lock as a special request just to know, but seriously not too fussed about it. I'm almost sure I will drive it for a long time so not worried about the effect of not having PCCB on resale.... ("almost" because that's what I also thought about my 718 Spyder with PCCB).

It's not the end of the world, of course. I've had many Porsches with steel brakes and they are phenomenal. Congrats on your LOCKED build, and may you enjoy your SRS for many years!

I'm posting this in both threads since there is a similar discussion in each:

My PTS build is locked, however, Porsche Canada agreed to unlock it today so I could add deviated stitching in blue with blue belts and door pulls. They also offered to open my locked PTS 3RS build.

So, if you have recently locked, reach out to your SA and you might be able to make last minute changes.

Great to hear! Won't hold my breath but very encouraging.

I debated on Neodyme a long time, but thought it might be a bit polarizing. If I went with my 2nd choice Oak Metallic Green I would have, but went clean with painted silver to complement underberg. Slightly more pop that the base dark silver I think but hard to tell from pictures/renders.

Hk- Silver is a great choice for looks and hiding brake dust. Surprisingly, brake dust shows up really bad on black wheels, kind of like dirt on a black car and barely shows up on silver wheels in my experience. Dark satin platinum hides brake dust well but it dulls the finish. Armor All makes a brake dust repellant that also works well to so don’t worry about switching to PCCBs. Look forward to seeing your car.

Hi, our SRS arrives in April 2024. No PTS. IIRC the MSRP is $217k.

You need to specify your location as it's very dependent on that. My allocation is MSRP, but I've had a deposit down more than 3 years ago and made sure to get MSRP in writing.

I received an offer of ten percent of MSRP plus my car in trade, with no specific discussion of my car's trade in value. Very superficial.

In the Ferrari world a new Ferrari is always list. No dealer BS like market adjustment. That said, if you want the new Ferrari it will be required that you have purchased many new and preowned cars from the dealer. We bought a Pista new in 2019. No mark up except the Port, Lusso and 812 we had to buy prior. If you add up the transaction costs and losses we would have been better to pay the market adjusted price.

Point being, when someone says they are paying MSRP for their new (super special Porsche or Ferrari) don't be envious. Its probably a flex. in most cases they 'pre-paid' their Market Adjusted price from previous purchases that maybe they really didn't want. Porsche dealers in the US are playing this game. For the record, the dealers SHOULD maximize their profits and absolutely should be playing this game. Its supply and demand and the way real business works.

we paid $25k over for our SRS order spot and would do it again. Car arrives in the spring 2024. we paid 375k for a 991.2 Speedster that had the MSRP of $335. That car is still worth what we paid...and probably will be worth far more when the 992 Speedster prices with market adjustment are known.

IMO the 718 Spyder RS will be a special car forever. for me its the perfect dream Porsche. (I also have a new Ferrari 296 GTS and other cars and I bet the SRS is my preferred car)

Bottom line, the market adjusted price could be LESS than having been forced to play the game with the dealers. You only live once and you are dead a super duper long time. Set aside the ego bs. if you can afford it...pay the price.

It's official, I have a March SRS allocation!

Had the choice between that or June. Going to do Euro delivery at Zuffenhausen roughly in April? Then will get to enjoy it the rest of Summer.

This will be an early 50th birthday present to myself! It will also be my 9th Spyder purchase!
