GT4 RS: have economics changed?

The used car market has softened, but I personally know of someone who bought a used 992 GT3 that edged over $600k with stamp duty, so they definitely were selling at these prices. I think the incoming GT4RS's are absolutely "stealing" customers from GT3 purchases. They are $150-200k cheaper in comparison, it's a no brainer really. The 4RS is the Porsche to have IMO.... I just wish I could get my hands on one, but Im also very pumped for my GT4 which is currently docking in NZ now, before making its way into Australian waters very soon.
What do flipper GT4RSs sell for?
Why pay $600k for a GT3 when they have to sell them at MSRP or you can get a GT4RS for $200K cheaper?
Yes, rhetorical questions…

The flippers in Aus get black balled - quick sharp.

As I currently own both a very high spec 718GT4 Manual Clubsport and also a new GT4 RS I can feel the same DNA is both of them. The 718GT4 is surprisingly fast and has a stunning natural balance on track. You really feel it rotating just behind your back unlike the 991/992s which rely on RAS which also gives it a rorating feel just behind you albeit a slightly artificial one. The 718 does not need RAS because the central mounted engine positioned low down provides natural balance.
I've only done a few hundred miles in my 4RS but apart from the truly amazing powertrain it feels immediately much more responsive and tied down. The 718GT4 then feels soft in comparison mostly in the front end as if it needs stiffer springs. The rubber bushings compared to the solid ones in the 4RS gives the steering a slightly mushy imprecise feeling in comparison.Nothing a good geometry setup with better dampers/ springs can't solve although in isolation the 718GT4 is still IMO a beautifully balanced handling car.
Its only when you first drive a 4RS you realise the the GT4 would benefit from a more focused firmer set up.

I do like your comments and comparisons very much ! (also on PH)
Thanks for all input, I really enjoyed it and learned from your magnificent input. Especially the behavior of the GT4RS on B roads, as the suspension is far more better than everybody anticipated, as stated in your comments !
I used to have a 718 GT4 PDK, and I always found the steering a little "unsharp' not quite the initial steering input I would have expected for a GT Porsche. I hope my in coming GT4RS wil solve that. As I read your comments on this issue I have full confidence for what is coming.

Great comments and you're completely correct in relation to RAS, its a game changer for the 911 and very much so for the GT division cars. Helps slip angle and thus increases corner speed. I strongly suspect, that if the 991.2 GT3 RS and 992 GT3 didn't have RAS, the GT4 RS would be quicker round a technical circuit.

It was quicker around Anglesey track compared to the 992GT3 in the hands of Steve Sutcliffe who is one of the very quickest journos on the planet. The compactness makes it very nimble on a tighter track. I will find out for myself next month as I have a trackday booked at Anglesey with my 4RS.

The more telling item from that Sutcliffe video was the smile on his face - he really enjoyed the drive, he had a lot of fun in the 4RS.
Take away RAS and I have no doubt the 4RS would be quicker around that circuit. Anyhow, its all hypothetical and to be honest - its the fun factor that really matters most and the 4RS has that in spades. Hope it stays nice, dry and cool for your road trip. I'm sure you'll have a blast.
