GT4 Build Too Expensive?

I think you won't get your money back on some of those options. However, its not like the car will be selling under market in 5 years because it has extra fluff.
PTS if a desirable color is good for resale.
All the other fluff just pretend that you paid ADM and got extra stuff thrown in for free. After all, ADM depreciates 100% on day 1 so you actually have something to show for your ADM and you can get a car now.

In my experience, the only items that add value are PCCB and Burmester audio. Beyond that, a higher spec car may get you to the upper end of the value price range, but it won't be an earth shattering difference. But cars like these are pure indulgences. Get what you want for how you want it and don't worry about the resale value. It won't be nothing. PTS will only appeal to a private buyer who may want that color, but won't add anything to a trade in value.

^totally disagree. The 5k burmester option will never regain 5k back on resale, let alone add value. Same with PCCBs. The only thing that may add value is the leather interior. The 2k option for leather is cheap and it's an absolute deal breaker for many for a top end car to not have it IMO so a lot of people will walk (I would, but in 30 years the plastic dash could be more desirable as it is debatable if the leather one will hold up that long. I think it will because it's Porsche not Aston Martin or Ferrari)
The only thing that generally 'adds' value is not checking options because a stripper bought at MSRP and a 50k bloat build bought at MSRP are not going to be 50k apart in resale regardless of when they are sold.
As time passes, 5, 10, 15+ years from now, they'll be likely even closer in price with maybe the odd exception. No one is going to care about electronic options like apple car play in 15 years or folding mirrors or the navi option. PCCB's and LEDs may even be a negative because if your PCCB's measure at 40% life that's going to be a hard sell. Likewise if the LED's have a problem they're not repairable and the whole assembly is replaced for big money. HID's at least you can change the bulbs 'cheaply'. LED lamps failure is common enough too.

I would say desirable options that should do well on resale are LWBS, PCCBs, PDLS+, and leather interior. I happen to really like the carbon fiber package too which I think looks great and is very reasonably priced in the land of Porsche but that’s probably a bit more subjective.
While the car you mentioned is very heavy on the options, that is somewhat mitigated by its MSRP price. Still 160k for a GT4 is up there.
I would like the car better with the MT and LWBS especially if I was considering resale. PDK is a pricey option on the GT4/Spyder particularly considering it’a a no cost option on the 992 . Not to mention the fact that the Spyder/GT4 have that brilliant 6Spd. Navigation when car play is available is an absolute waste afaic. And I wouldn’t pay extra for a Burmeister in a convertible with a roaring flat 6 but some might like it -a GT4 might provide better acoustics and less noise.
PTS really depends on the color. Shark blue is very close to a few of the PTS blues but other blues like Gulf, Albert, Gemini, etc., could be very compelling to certain buyers.
If you have the cash and like the spec I wouldn’t be deterred by resale speculation. That seems to go out the window when you’re driving down a windy road with that flat 6 wailing behind you.

Highly recommend listening to this before buying. Top lifetime Porsche sales guy tells you what not to buy. PTS and all the stitching and leather options add dollars but generally don’t return.

It is what it is, and if you like it and can afford it, buy it. These are not meant to be investments so buy it to enjoy it while you have it.

Pretty sure I have seen this car. Unless there are two around at $158k!
It is absolutely beautiful. I don't recall the name of the blue color. The name just changed due to some copyright issue or something.
If it's the one I saw, all the stitching was in yellow. This option (00480 Color Selection for Stitching in Deviated Color 0.00) changes the silver stitch to the specified color.
Looks great, but it's almost at GT4RS prices!
If you love it, go for it. As mentioned, it's not an investment, it's for enjoyment.

Just for reference, my build came out to $130K with LWBS, no PCCB, the $3k paint upcharge for Arctic Grey, and then the interior specs like deviated stitching, carbon etc.....
With $20k ADM I am at $150k....$8k less than your spec with those options. I know with the ADM I'll likely never see that back in a resale.....but I bought it as a forever dream car.
I'll hand it to my kid when I can't get in and out of the LWBS anymore!! lol
Also my original budget was $150k as I was going PTS as well (denied), so I'm basically paying for the PTS and a little ADM...without getting it. lol
Now obviously sh#t happens that can force a sale....but such is life. Just like the stock market....if I have to take a $10-20k cold shower in 10 years....I'll survive.
If you love it....get it. YOLO. And it could end in a flash. Sorry that's dramatic. GET IT!

Thank you all for your feedback and perspective, I really appreciate it. I put down my deposit, I'm going to go for it . I love it and when I visualize what car would I rather have in my garage, this is what I see.
There isn't a listing for this otherwise I would share it.
@Dr.Bill @GT325 - You got it, this is the same one. I couldn't remember the color name, but I do believe it is Manaus Blue. Maybe I'll see you around town.
