Default Differences between 718 spyder and gt4rs

I just want to post some observations I’ve had with the rs as compared to the spyder. First, I never would have thought 85 hp would be so noticeable. The spyder was harder to break the back end loose when moving so I was able to use the throttle almost like an on/off switch. Can’t do that on the rs. It’s like my old 1LE in that aggressive throttle inputs reward you with great slides at a detriment to speed. Both cars suffer from understeer with aggressive turn in and both can have a majority of that worked out with alignment. Both cars are loud but good lord, the rs is glorious. I have never had a car that I didn’t change the exhaust in until now. No need. Both cars suspension is fine for street use and track use in both settings. In fact, I prefer to drive the rs in the firm mode as there is slightly more rebound so I find it more comfortable. Spyder was manual so I can’t compare the transmissions but it is really nice to be able to get through a couple of gears in the rs before you get to go to jail speeds. fit and finish of both cars has been great. Both cars attract incredible amounts of attention. Im not sure what Porsche changed on the brake pads since 2020 but they sure do make a lot less noise. Dust is pretty bad on both. More observations to come.

I can't wait until they come out with a convertible 4RS!

it's good to know the spyder can belong in the same conversation.

"Both cars suspension is fine for street use and track use in both settings." OP, please define "fine"... Im hoping there is a major difference between the Spyders, rather soft spring rates and poor damping and the RS...

rs is firmer than the spyder but it isn’t in unenjoyably so. There is a deficiency of rebound in the soft mode on the rs, that’s fixed with the firm mode. I haven’t pushed hard enough to see other deficiencies yet.

I’ve never driven or ridden in anything like it. It’s addicting. I drove 600 miles the day I got it and never even thought about ear plugs.

I had my Spyder for 2 weeks now, and I can relate to this. Even after 2 years with sport cats/akrapovic box on a 992 (essentially the turbos and cats are only thing muffling the sound- loud but sad).

I drove the GT3 and RS at the PSDS in several occasions and every time I started was an event. It's not only the engine noise but all the mechanical metallic clickity clack other cars hide. Near 100k more? I'm not sure. I'm also becoming a manual car snob, even considering my deep appreciation for the pdk efficiency.

Threads like these could be dangerous to my investment balance once the SRS hits...

Yeah, I have seen a lot of comments comparing the Spyder/GT4 to the GT4 RS. However, everyone seems to always NOT talk about the price difference (as if you could by the GT4 RS for the same price, you can't). It is an important distinction.
