Does anyone just leave 100% stock?

My plan was to leave the car stock. It was also my plan for the GT4 to be my "forever" car Unfortunately the suspension wasn't up to task, so I altered it. Then I needed to address the lack of exhaust sound.
In hindsight, if I knew the amount I was going to spend in aftermarket and if I knew of the degree of shortcomings in stock form before hand, I would have passed and got on the C8 Z06 lists earlier. But, you can't go back, only forward, so I changed what I could to make it as good as I could. Porsche aftermarket is NOT for the faint of heart, that is for sure.

Probably +90% are left stock. Our view is just skewed because we tend to think all forum owners modding on here make up 100% of owners, where in fact likely <10% of owners are on forums.

At the end of the day, leaving it stock wins out. I will leave my '21 GTS 4.0 bone stock base on what I have come to appreciate after owning a '66 Vette since 1987. Over my 35 years of stewardship during which I added A/C, a 5-speed tranny and R&P steering rack I made the car easier to use everyday but have learned that it is now less valuable than had I left it stock. As time goes by, I think this will prove to be the case for any Porsches when they are put up for resell. Now if your car is truly going to be a forever car, then go ahead and have at it.

Nope. Car doesn’t really feel like mine until I start modding it. Usually stock wheels have to go.

I have done a few cosmetic mods to the interior of my CGTS. Leather shift boot for the PDK. Carbon fiber shift ****. Red starter key dummy. Red drive mode selector switch. Rennline mag safe phone charging mount. Kaizen console cup holder. Fürstel Coco Mats.
Did extensive PPF, window tinting and full ceramic. Oh, and clear side markers up front. Plus, Chalk key fob cover from China.
Mechanically, no changes.

My 2022 GT4 is staying pretty stock. Since getting it at the beginning of September, I have bought PPF, a cover and a Rennline tow hook. Next year I may add a rollbar and swap in the race seats and harnesses I already own for track season, and maybe some track specific brake pads. If the seats I have don't work well in this car I will sell them and buy some that do. I am also thinking about buying a second set of wheels, probably also OEM, so I can have one set with the Ultra High Performance tires for the track and the other set for a more street friendly set of tires. When the brake fluid is flushed next year it will be replaced with the appropriate DOT4 high temp brake fluid. If I get fast enough on the track I may do some alignment related modifications. But I won't be messing around with the exhaust system, major suspension components like shocks, springs and sway bars, engine tune, stereo, air filters and other things that are very popular here.

Mine is pretty bone stock except:
- Clear side markers
- PPF on the front, lower rockers, spoiler
- Film on A-pillar
- LWBS centre cushions replaced with P1 Designs "Ramsay" Tartan...
I'm considering on Over Axle particulate filter delete to work a bit on the sound.
But the engine has plenty of torque, the steering and suspension are superb, IMO, and thus no need to swap out.
I'm not a track-head so I really don't need those extra suspension and steering bits and bobs.

Racer
I have to modify it, there's zero chance I can keep a performance vehicle 100% stock. It's incomplete to me if I don't do something and make it "mine".

My initial plan was to keep it stock after PPF, clears, bolster covers and hardwired v1 while tweaking the stock suspension. I ended up installing rsnv risers at delivery, and then installed race headers and race exhaust a year after that. The headers and exhaust made it an epic. Best money I ever spent. Once driving season is here again I will get a cobb AP and protune and call it after that. The platform is great!

If my intended use were the public byways, personally I'd leave the car 100% stock. I use my GT4 80% track and it demands changes. The art is establishing goals and developing a well thought out plan to achieve them within your budget. Worse is not an option.
