Does anyone just leave 100% stock?

With the exception of the Kline OAP/exhaust, Softronic Tune, DSC Sport, Apex Forged Wheels, BMC Air Filters, a painted Cayman GTS front lip spoiler, Spyder Ducktail, Zunsport, and some interior mods, I left mine mostly stock. 😏

That shift **** and boot look great. It's also nice to see Im not the only one who chose the non-leather interior, PDK and no buckets on a GT4!

Way back I modified an Eclipse GSX, exhaust, boost controller, intakes, Eibach springs once I was done it was complete junk.

Yes, but you started with something that was complete junk! This car needs some mechanical mods (suspension, exhaust, etc) in order to play to its strengths which are the chassis, gearbox and engine. The rest of the Cayman GT4/SPyder is really a parts bin special from 10 years ago (particularly the PASM, springs and dampers) and begs for thoughtful mods to be great!

Unless this information from the Porsche news room is incorrect.
The front axle of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS was taken from the 911 GT3 RS (991.2 generation) and is also used in the 718 Cayman GT4. The classic MacPherson strut-type axle is additionally equipped with helper springs that keep the main springs under tension when they are deflected. The main spring maintains its original tension even under maximum load. This benefits the vehicle’s controllability during particularly dynamic driving.

10 years? Wasn't most of inherited from the 991.2 GT3RS, which was 2018-2019?

Oh nice a GSX. I had an Eclipse GST back in the day. Really wanted a GSX but couldn't find a clean example in my area. Was my first ever sports car and I loved it.

I'm with the others, I plan to have the car for a very long time, and I don't see any reason to wait a few years into my ownership to start enjoying the car that I initially wanted (Porsche SSK, some JCR exhaust bits, clear corners). It is a great car from the factory, but I do want to add a bit of unique items to it to make it different than the other 718s out there. Since I will plan to drive mine more for backroads, fun and some track stuff, I'm hesitant to go down the rabbit hole of coilovers, TPC stuff and some other items that will make the car inherently more fun, but could be detrimental to what I want the GTS for - driving anytime, and going anywhere. I still want it to be enjoyable on a 6+ hour road trip, which my previous Cayman wasn't quite so after a slew of handling and engine upgrades. There is a limit, but like others said, changes that are easy to make and undo are welcome changes. The factory shifter/manual from the factory can use some improving, whether it's GT level upgrades, or you go right up to Numeric. I wanted to minimize the NVH that my exhaust added in, so I'm hesitant to go full Numeric.

Nice, I also had a GS-T, it was very fast to me back in the day. I believe it was 210 HP if I am remembering correctly. It was my first new sports car. I have old school film photos of it somewhere, it had the tan cloth interior and a 10-disc changer in the trunk. It was that greenish/blue color exterior
