Opening frunk & trunk with Porsche Entry & Drive "gesture"
Hi all,
I was at a local Porsche event a couple months ago, and a guy who had another GTS 4.0 was talking about how cool he thought it was that you can open the frunk & trunk by waving your hand around a particular location near each.
I've tried it with mine (which does have PE&D) according to the placement shown in the manual and I cannot for the life of me get it to work.
Anybody know any more about this / how to make it work reliably / if it's possible to accidentally disable it?
Thanks in advance,
Luki

Thanks...I was sure the guy at the event said his was a '22 but maybe it was a '21. My car did come with the electric steering column (which I know has since been deleted from many cars due to supply chain issues) and I don't remember being told that anything was "deleted" but I'll ask when I take it in for service soon.

Can confirm. I was waving my hand like an idiot on my GTS, finally giving up. I had it on my 17 Boxster. Small price to pay IMO.

Just the gesture
I can confirm that my 2022 Boxster 25 has normal entry and drive but no gesture control of the frunk and trunk. I was told supply chain issues.
The good news is that they don't open when you are washing the car and accidentally have the keys in your pocket!

Burning Brakes
There have been several threads on this topic, one was literally just discussed last week. It isn't possible on 2022+ models.

The feature *does* exist. It is simply that there is the known supply-chain issue with the availability of wiring harnesses, sensors, etc. Porsche is delivering the cars without them rather than holding up delivery of the car for that one minor feature.
My 2022 GTS came without the sensors installed. During the pre-delivery preparation, the dealer only had one sensor with the second one back ordered (there are two for the frunk IIRC). They installed the one sensor thinking that the system might work for a certain area at least, but no luck, so they put everything back together and will install the other sensor when it arrives.
It seems like the typical German engineering mistakes still prevail. ;-)
