I suspect future production may have now shifted to Osnabrück or will shortly. Can anyone confirm they have a VIN with a K in position 11? The last 5 digits of a K VIN would be helpful to continue my count.

Hello, Just wanted to see if you may know if the 7000 number is correct for the 4RS? I had a dealer tell me they are done with production? Dealers here also dont allow you sending them a build, they build with what they choose and offer that
at 100k markup... I own a 2016 GT4 , 10k miles but I am looking for an allocation.
Thank you,
Dan

They'll be a lot of conflicting information here about the future of GT4RS production. The consensus on Rennlist is that production will continue throughout 2024 and possibly 2025. Some even have the idea that it'll go through 2 years past when the 718 EV is available (2025+2=2027). However, I've been told by my sales agent, sales manager and recently a motorsports manager, that GT4RS allocations are finished, the RS Spyder replacing them on the assembly line. To be clear, they didn't say "close to being done", they said "done" as in finished, completed. These guys know what they're doing, not every SA and SM does, but they do. The only builds to continue are from past allocations that are just now going through the delivery timeline or waiting for order entry, probably until the end of the year. You're going to hear comments here like "build baby build" from folks who believe what they want to believe and don't want to believe it's the end of the line for whatever reason. Take it with a grain of salt, GT4RSs will never be cheaper than they are over the Summer of 2023. My personal opinion (what I mentioned above is what Porsche has told the SA, SM and MM) is that Porsche intends to eventually maximize production of the outgoing turbo 4 motor for any 718s built and save the GT3 engine for more GT3s and 1 year's production of RS Spyders. They're in the business to make money, the engines are the production bottleneck, and selling 100 GT4RSs and 100 GT3s is still not as profitable as selling 200 GT3s. If you really want one, now you don't have the time to take a $100,000 depreciation bath on all the Macans you need to buy to get a non-ADM allocation. ROW will have 2022, 2023 and 2024 Model Years and North America will be MY23 and MY24 only. The GT division leader himself said the GT4RS will be in production for "2, 2-1/2 years", he was right. Most here will have a different opinion. For whatever builds remain open, prepare to pay around a $50K-$60K ADM.

+1 on this ^. Porsche motorsports team will *typically* know more than a dealer given the racecar is homologated off the streetcar.

That’s all I’ll say.

Default Production Number Question

Hi, I don’t know if this the right thread to answer this but I want to ask the question.

I used VinAnalytics to check on the production number for my current GT4 and my incoming GT4 RS allocation.

Does anyone know what the “production number” value actually means?

my current 2020 GT4 -> 1209675
my 2024 GT4 RS allocation incoming -> 1241884

now this can’t mean they built over 1M GT4 and GT4 RS’s does it?

Appreciate the insight. So no more new allocations. The price of the 4RS is very close to the GT3 right now, But 4RS is coming down from the highs I saw, as well as I couldnt touch a car with less than 100k adm (california) now they are at about 60k from a few dealers. Think how many they could sell if they stopped allowing 50-60% markups...imho. Perhaps I should spend a little more and buy a GT3...

Thanks for the response!
Dan

992 GT3 and 4RS will probably be very close in price moving forward. Same engine/brakes but with obvious other differences. I see the non WP 4RS being priced same as a PDK sofa 992 build(around 220 which is what's happening now) while WP 4RS with pccbs/mag wheels equal to a fully loaded 992 6MT GT3.

They are going to continue to build 4RS. They aren't just gonna make the 24 model for 3 months and stop as some have already received early MY 24 production slots already. At a minimum they will continue until the 24 production cycles ends at a bare minimum. Doesn't matter whos telling who what. We have seen this over and over and over. Until there is a document from porsche stating production is over, then its not over.

Also, PCNA sent me a cool gift as I wait for my GT4 RS to arrive. They sent a model of a Porsche 356 to build.

I am hearing exactly the same thing. PCCB is stop sell item, delays for CXX cars that want the bonnet stripe (hand painted!!) and now working through remaining orders into the MY24 cycle, but no expectation of any GT4RS cars being delivered after 2024.

All stripes are hand painted off the line. Can only do a limited number per month - I was warned about this before ordering. I was told this CXX option would add at least 4 months wait time on delivery of the car due to backed up orders for painting!!

When you say no expectation of GT4RS's after 2024 do you mean after MY24 ends which is in summer of 2024 or do you mean end of 2024 on the actual calendar?

It would make sense for MY24 to be the last production year but I don't think they've handed out all the MY24 allocations just yet.
