I got an email from SA today...apparently from 6/24 there's a stop sale on yellow stitching. Don't have any further details yet, hope to chat with my SA this weekend. Since I first started playing with the configurator two years ago, it's always been yellow stitch interior. Major bummer.
Here's the build in case anyone is curious: http://www.porsche-code.com/PPGVXJH3

Oh man. This worries me. My car is scheduled to arrive at Benecia in 2-3 days and it has yellow stitching… does that mean it’s going to be delayed too?

I think the correct interpretation is stop order and not stop sale. Stop sale means that vehicles in transit can not be delivered and typically relates to safety / regulatory issue. Stop order means that the option is no longer available for spec, just like PCCBs earlier in the year.
At your stage it should not be a reason for delay, assuming it’s stop order.

You're fine, they only do a stop sale for safety issues, this isn't a stop sale. Most likely they just have a shortage of the yellow thread, so you can't order any new cars with it.
There are several aftermarket solutions for changing thread colors but doing the entire interior would be very expensive! I venture to say that it will be a temporary delay since Yellow stitching is very popular, and if one wants it they may want to wait it out.
Thank you all for piping in here. Several of you mentioned that this is a stop order, not a stop sale which is of course correct! This is a stop order of the black/yellow stitch option (#58) on the Spyder and GT4.
Fortunately, I have learned that it can still be specified via extended deviated stitching. So hurray for an extra $1,200 and up to 4 week delay.
I will cut the leather steering column (don't want to pay more for deviated stitch there), center wheel crest (aftermarket later), and fuel cap to help soak that up.
I think the yellow belts should stay. I don't think they'll be too much.
My understanding is that extended stitching doesn't actually add anything aside from other color choices. Does that sound right?http://www.porsche-code.com/PPDP4QG1
Yup, same finding here in the Northeast. Tried to finalize and lock in my spec (or, what I thought it would be....) just 2 hours ago, and still being told that the yellow contrast can't be added (without the extended deviated option).
Oh well, silver it is! :happydance no matter what color the stitching ends up!

Supposedly this guy's lady did his C8 (starts at 17:45) with a "dye pen" (in yellow)...:
