Stupid question, but for NA Spyders:
- assume you need car either turned on, or in accessory mode with key in to unlatch roof?
- assume to close roof and latch back up, you need to have same process of having the key involved in some form?
Just made me think it is too bad if this is indeed the case, as it seems odd when parking with roof open, one with get out and start the roof process but then at the end I guess you need to leave the key in the accessory mode in order to power the latch closing step. I thought you would get otu with the key in your pocket as normal but then realized it likely requires you to leave the key in the car. I also thought PE&D would maybe negate that but remembered it doesn't have that LOL

If ROW is NA for Europe, yes we can (close and open the roof with fob), but we need to press the trunklid to close it

of course! I'd be pretty happy with the keyfob lock - I find the most onerous part is having to get back into the car in order to both the roof down and activate the dashboard button...

Thank you, of course now I see what the very minor PITA people of spoke about before when closing it.

Curious what this would be worth to those that would pay to have this enabled?

at least the price of a SmartTop... but the solution would need to survive any re-programming done by the dealer

I managed to code the windows and top on my 992. Unfortunately, the top won't work as the fob is different for the row. The windows work with the fob. I wonder what could be coded IF the fobs are the same on the Spyder.

curious - wouldn’t this be more time consuming then actually putting up and down the spyder roof? Considering you have to store it in the frunk - and storing it in the trunk would be even more pointless… btw - hoping to test out all of these roof opening/closing and key fob tips in a couple of weeks - pike up my baby March 28th for full PPF - should be good to ride start of April - can’t wait! 😁

As for the roof, to save milliseconds Is it possible to leave the flaps connected to the roof, put the roof up, close the rear deck, and then latch the roof with the button? Or in order to latch the roof, you need those flaps pushed into their spots?
