Is this an engine swap or are they modifying the existing engine or is there an option? My car has already had two engines...what harm could a third do other than destroy my beautiful 8 year warranty

You can provide an engine or they will machine out and build your current engine.

Hi @Rick DeMan I’m just curious if you’ve seen or discovered anything related to the extreme clutch pedal travel that’s needed to address the 1-2 grind that many of us have experienced.
Also if you offer a final drive solution too.
Honestly not sure that I need that awesome 4.5, but the gearing solution you offer is of great interest to me.
The 2 day turnaround is attractive too as I’m just across the state.

Thanks in advance.

No, I think the best Porsche has managed is 86.5 (992 GT3) for a production car.

Arguably Porsche's greatest production NA engine, Carrera GT's V10, made 75.9

This is built on your existing engine.

We do have brand new 718 GT4/Spyder engines in stock for purchase outright built to 4.5L spec

We do not have a final drive, never will. It simply will never be strong enough. Changing the ratio makes the pinion gear way too small and fragile.
Back in 2001 Porsche Motorsport offered a shorter R/P for the mighty GT3 R/RS race cars. They came with a disclaimer that they were only good for 15 hours of race use. They certainly did break after that time limit!

Our gearing change is the single best thing you can do to any GT4/Spyder. From a performance and driving experience perspective its the biggest and best bang for the buck outside of the 4.5L.

I have not experienced the clutch issue first hand so not sure what the issue could be. Our lightweight clutch/flywheel package has never experienced that on close to 60 cars now.

Amazing build...can't even imagine what it feels like with that type of power and torque! Rick do you do any intake mods to support that power level or is it all in the bore/stroke and headwork?
Mike

With the shorter 2-5 gearing, what speed is the 2nd gear tops out at 8000 rpm ?

Hi Grant,

I can only post what I see with the tools I have available. I don't have a "PORSCHE" measuring stick to use for comparison purposes. I use a Dyna Pack Dyno, so I can build a data base of baseline for HP and TQ from some of the best cars Porsche has produced in stock form. From there we can compare to Factory stated numbers and extrapolate a comparison.

I prefer to build a data base of stock Benchmark cars like the 2019 991.2 GT3RS that I have attached below to compare my modified cars against. The GT3 RS did exactly what the factory claimed for HP at 520 but the TQ is a bit higher on MY MEASURING STICK, so that's what I go with.
I'll compare the 4.5L Spyder to the 991.2 GT3RS on MY dyno tool and show the results as found for comparative purposes. Comparison of this data to any other data outside this control set is useless.

Below is the 991.2 GT3RS and below that is the 4.5L Spyder my Dog Tony was singing to this morning.

The chart below shows the RPM and Speed in each gear using a stock diameter tire.

I used to think a final drive solution would be ideal, but changing gears 2-5 accomplishes everything you could want. A shorter final drive would shorten gears 1 and 6 as well. 1st gear is inconsequential in most situations and not worth shortening, and most people would want a longer 6th gear if anything (for highway use). Not to mention the reliability issues that have been brought up time and again
