No word for “my” RS.
Wish I would at least be told no, or has no one in Canada heard anything definitively?
I’ve not previously bought a GT car, maybe the dealer doesn’t give a ****?

But it doesn't mean anything until a real allocation is assigned, then you can get the V200 status order.

You do..how big of a chance? Depends how many your dealer gets and how many people are ahead of you.
All dealers can input an on-demand order with configuration even if there are no allocations open. This is done by the dealers to let PCNA/PAG know the demand and give them a better chance at getting cars.

Though I believe Volvo is doing that soon.

The dealership model appears to be alive and well. Most manufactured things are sold TO DEALERS as the dealer is their primary customer / focus. Porsche is unique in that it has so many touch points with the end user (the real customer) that it seams as if they dealer is just getting in the way. In actuality, the dealer is the buffer between what Porsche needs to do and what the customer wants.
Times have changed and what a dealer does has changed too. You no longer need the dealer for information, as it is readily available on the internet. You no longer need the dealer for financing as it is readily available. In most cases, you no longer need the dealer for taking a trade as trades are easily sold via Carvana / Carmax / Vroom etc.
But, the dealer is needed for specialized service. And, is particularly needed from Porsche, a German company, to help funnel the demands and wishes of customers from all over the world into their highly structured manufacturing process. When you think about things such as Exclusive Options or ordering PTS, Porsche is really poor with customer direct interaction. As bad as it appears, the dealership is truly much better at understanding you.
Besides ADMs, which I refuse to pay, my biggest complaint with Porsche is their existing dealership model fails when it comes to hard to get cars. Porsche would like you to buy from a local dealer, but you are forced to shop around to find a stock car / or get an allocation - at a fair price. I have now been forced to buy a car at 4 different dealerships because my local dealer did not have / or could not get the car I wanted. Instead, Porsche should have a system in place to support the local dealer to sell me the car I want.
If I owed a Porsche dealership, I would declare that we are not selling cars, instead we are building long term relationships. I would help each local customer complete their purchase through me - EVEN IF I DID NOT MAKE a penny on the transaction. I would refuse to sell cars outside of our area which is beyond our ability to service them. I would only service the cars that we sold so as to make sure there is always room for our customers. And, I would expect you to buy your next car through me unless I failed you in some way. I would pray that those customers that don't give a **** about a relationship buy from our competitors. And, if any of this did not work for Porsche, I would tell them they are welcome to come get the sign off the building anytime they like.
By the way, this is EXACTLY how business is handled if you are friends with the owner. So if it is the right thing do among friends, why treat any customer differently???

I also wouldn't have a problem buying with no ADM and doing what Ferrari did for a while and sign an agreement that I would have to give the dealer first right of refusal if I sold within a certain amount of time (2 years) to cut the speculation down. There's a dealership I spoke to about the 4RS who let me know if I wanted a car now they had a GT3 coming in that someone had decided to not take delivery on and they were taking bids at the 315K range....

Got a call from a sister Porsche dealer to a BMW dealer I purchased a car from in the past. Estimated July build GT4RS allocation available for $225K over MSRP. He was unwilling to give me $350K for my GT4 trade in so I had to pass. Apparently I was in his contact list under the "intercontinental drug dealer" tab instead of "engineer track rat with a wife and kids" tab. ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)

$225k OVER MSRP? So $365k before options?
