GT4 RS Allocation Thread
#3016
Kinda off-topic: I had the same issue with my 981 GT4. I thought it was going to be this hardcore GT car, but I thought it was actually very plush and comfortable -- I did 13k miles in a year with it, frequently driving in and out NYC. I think you'll like the 4RS, it definitely has some better compliance to it, but it was way more aggressive around town (I actually don't enjoy driving in/out of NYC). That being said, I think it does miss some of the low speed engagement still...would probably be better with hydraulic power steering (won't suggest a manual as the powertrain is phenomenal IMO).

I am learning you need to align your driving opinion with the right Youtube reviewer. I purchased a GT4 thinking it would be a good upgrade from my S2000 CR but it really isn't. I find it drives like a luxury car and is only exciting on the streets when doing very illegal speeds. Yet, all the Youtube reviewers said how hardcore it is and there is no way you can daily drive this car. So wrong in my opinion. I think a GT4RS is a better car for me but this time I want to test drive the car on the street before investing in it.

I'm in Alberta Canada. I appreciate the offer and if I'm down there I will reach out. The CR was a great car. I owned mine for 12 years.
Back on topic, I'm hoping with all the EV platform delays, this car will last to 2026 which I hope means everyone that wants one can I have one (and not get bent over with ADM).

Hearing loss is permanent in sustained noise levels of 110 db or more. I think some of the comments here are very uneducated. Its a lifelong condition and you may not think the same way in 10-20 years. I had a dundon crack pipe in my gt3rs briefly. That was 108 db in WOT. I would come home and literally have ringing in my ears for a few hours.
Might be similar decibals but one crushes your hearing more than the other. I'm not a ear expert but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Case in point. I had a SOUL center pipe on my GT3 and I thought I was going def. Had to remove it immediately. I enjoy the sound of my 4 RS at 9k. I'm the same person, decibals might be similar but one is not even close to the other in terms of frequency and perception of loud.

Hope you don't regret selling the s2000. I know I still miss mine from time to time.

I've said this before but the RS interior noise is well overblown. Yes it's loud between 7,000 and 9,000 RPM. It's quieter than any convertible I've ever driven when doing everyday activities. It's slightly louder than a normal coupe. When I do a track day it's about 150 mi round trip and another 150 mi give or take on the track. That's been the longest I've driven in a single day. I have never found the interior noise to be too loud or too annoying. Honestly I don't know if I could do 600 mi in a day because of the carbon seats, that would be the limiting factor for me not the sound levels.
An SRS will be epic. But I would definitely expect it to be louder than 4RS.

He really should have taken his own advice.
Here's the big one for me. These cars are dropping value and this is based on their limited breath of ability compared to a GT3.
I drove to the Vegas GP in my Touring on the weekend and I honestly would have not wanted it to be any louder or stiffer than it was.

4RS was too loud, so he sold it (i.e. needed fresh content LOL). So anyone actually take their RS on a long road trip? This guy couldn’t handle 3 hours.

What’s the point? Get an allocation now, and it still won’t be built before they close down production Q2/24. Your only bet is the used market.
#3024
Production is not ending Q2. My build starts in July delivers Oct/Nov. I have heard Nov 24 will be last production month, but wouldn't be surprised if Porsche extends production into 2025 to milk it as long as practical.

How about buying a car because, YOU ACTUALLY LIKE IT.
I could give an F about the value of any of my cars. I buy and sell based on what I like and enjoy. Not based on values now or in the future.

This ^^. I personally am committing Porsche blasphemy by speccing 18 ways and no WP (ugly IMO) on an "RS" car because I don't care what the next guy thinks or how it will impact resale "value".

Care to post contact info for the ones at 30k since you're taking the 20k one? Talk is big but without proof it doesn't mean much.

I posted in the Spyder RS Allocation thread of an allocation being available at $50k ADM and I am hearing crickets. So I also believe the market has shifted. Seems like no one is paying that high of an ADM anymore.
