As a drivers car the 4rs can be enjoyable, but the sound does get old and robs the experience a bit.

I can't believe people are complaining that the 4RS is too loud. Sell your cars, sell all of them, drive the price down so I can buy another.

Since this guy is obviously an objective expert I decided to relinquish my allocation and pickup a Lexus RX350. So glad I caught this thread. Could have been stuck with a miserably loud 4RS in my garage. Thank you mr YouTuber man.

I used to like his content, purely from a cinematography perspective, but now I can't stand him. The carry on every time he gets a new car "OMG, my dream car, I can't believe it's mine, I'm actually speechless, I could cry, it's just so special... OMG, OMG, WOW" Repeats the same thing for 10m mins, then 2 weeks later he's sold the car and does it all over again with the next car. Rarely ever talks about the specs or features of the car, barely even gives any feedback on the actual driving experience.

Porsche can't win, either too loud or too quiet...you want quiet by an electric car.

There were 5 17 year old guys who were peering into my car when I got back from a coffee yesterday so I took each of them for a quick blat around a couple of blocks. They all liked the 4RS and none of them now want a 3RS even though they knew all the differences between them. Sorry but I am driving up future values with increased awareness and now new demand.

None said it was too loud, too hard, too bumpy. All loved it and came out smiling from ear to ear from the little experience they had in the car.

So shove it youtuber man going for the click-bait. Unsubscribed from that channel.

My take is the GT3/4 RS is a track car that you can drive on the street whereas the GT3/4 is a street car you can drive on the track. Having ridden in a GT4RS on track it is unbearably loud even with a helmet and requires ear plugs also. Yes I'm a cranky old Boomer and I spent most of my life working around jet engines in the Navy and Farming with heavy equipment so I do have some experience with excessive noise and its effects on the body.

Hearing loss is permanent in sustained noise levels of 110 db or more. I think some of the comments here are very uneducated. Its a lifelong condition and you may not think the same way in 10-20 years. I had a dundon crack pipe in my gt3rs briefly. That was 108 db in WOT. I would come home and literally have ringing in my ears for a few hours.

High dB isn’t sustained on track. Revs are lower in braking and corners, and even when accelerating in straights you don’t stay at redline. I rode in a 4RS on track and it didn’t seem excessively loud.

same approach here. when I sold my 4rs it has way more miles from other ppl driving it vs my own miles

I am learning you need to align your driving opinion with the right Youtube reviewer. I purchased a GT4 thinking it would be a good upgrade from my S2000 CR but it really isn't. I find it drives like a luxury car and is only exciting on the streets when doing very illegal speeds. Yet, all the Youtube reviewers said how hardcore it is and there is no way you can daily drive this car. So wrong in my opinion. I think a GT4RS is a better car for me but this time I want to test drive the car on the street before investing in it.

Kinda off-topic: I had the same issue with my 981 GT4. I thought it was going to be this hardcore GT car, but I thought it was actually very plush and comfortable -- I did 13k miles in a year with it, frequently driving in and out NYC. I think you'll like the 4RS, it definitely has some better compliance to it, but it was way more aggressive around town (I actually don't enjoy driving in/out of NYC). That being said, I think it does miss some of the low speed engagement still...would probably be better with hydraulic power steering (won't suggest a manual as the powertrain is phenomenal IMO).
