4RS is a DRIVER'S car. If someone is not really a driver, they probably won't enjoy driving it.

Obviously, we're entitled to our own opinions...but has nothing to do with value for me. I just find the 7.2 3RS a tiny bit more engaging from the hydraulic steering and the manual. That being said, I really can't stress enough that it would take a ridiculous situation (i.e., a literal gun to my head) for me to choose one over the other. I genuinely think the 4RS (and probably the Spyder RS - although the roof kills the everyday usability IMO) will go down as one of Porsche's all-time greats.

The 4RS is a hoot to drive just like a 997.2 GT3RS but in a different way, both fun and both put smiles on my face when I'm behind the wheel.

Is it safe to say the feeling is people believe whatever they did to get a 4RS was worth it? (looking for extrapolation to the SRS scenario) The juice is worth the squeeze? (Folks that got MSRP probably don't need to weigh in - lol)

this is a hard question to ask
so many people are msrp only and thats all its worth to them (and for principle)
to me I would not spend more than msrp for the SRS or GT4 RS. They are going to make a good amount of them and the spyder has not been as popular as the gt4 in history. I think you will end up getting offered one.

Response on that will tend to be biased, and is likely to change if the economy slows and resale prices on these cars drop to MSRP or lower.

seems like RS dip for 12-24 months after 12-24 months of first release, find stability, and then hold/appreciate. Examples, 997 are well over MSRP, 991.1 seem to be at MSRP or slightly below (plus or minus), 991.2 at or over MSRP, 991.2 GT2rs over MSRP.

But we haven't been in a normal economy for the past almost 4 years. It will eventually become normal again. That's what my Porsche dealer expects, and they're bracing for it.

I wasn't "offered" my standard 718 spyder; I had to look high and low, and got very lucky to nab an allocation on the front end of the ADM wave. There should be less SRS, given it is 1.5 years of production (for NA, anyway), and maybe even less than that. But that is the real question. How long WILL SRS production continue (given the seemingly endless supply chain issues)? Should we count on there being more than a MY 24? All the pre-announcement rumors about it (that I heard) predicted 1,000 cars or less coming to NA.

Thats why I referenced the 997 RS. They have gone through the economic cycles, peaks and valleys. So yeah, all the RS could go down in the next 1-2 years. And eventually they will peak again. But honestly if your betting against the RS holding value strictly based on economic conditions that same conclusion would be applied against every and all assets that currently hold value. Also have heard it for 2+ years. And yet there are many more stories of people walking into a Porsche dealership and unable to buy what they want. From Ts to GTS to Targas, let alone GT cars. Demand for Porsche continues to be stronger than ever before. Brand awareness is much different than 2008.

Just a brand enthusiast here, I’m no vip.

IMHO yes a Cayman with the GT3 engine is worth whatever it takes to get into one

If I had to do it again I would not hesitate

I do not see the SRS in the same light, just don’t appreciate it given how I would use it as a road car.

btw: I have a 987 Boxster Spyder and it is all that I want in a road car 🤷‍♂️
