I still have a northeast US dealer with a 4RS allocation, January build so likely can be PTS. Their ask is 75k over but I think they'll listen to offers.

I wonder why we don't believe these non profit dealers who are giving out these cars to any rando in exchange for a 5 Star Yelp review don't exist since the ones who found them won't share the info.

Is it safe to say this is is an exhaustive list of ways to get a GT car at MSRP?

1. trade in
2. prior purchase history
3. promised future buy back
4. friend/family
5. low demand

And we know #5 is out of the question. Side note: I paid $70k, best car I've ever driven. Even more fun than my 997.2 GT3RS. $0 regrets.

I got my Spyder at MSRP - two previous purchases at the same dealer, neither car was a GT car. I had to wait almost a year, but it worked out fine.

If you're willing to wait, and perhaps get skipped in line by the people who have FU money, I really think MSRP is doable.

Maybe it's just a subset of #5, but...
6. Wait for the next pandemic and/or financial markets panic.

Believe people have been saying this about the GT4RS and GT3 -- neither of which I see going for anything close MSRP for those with "average" dealer relationships.

I have run across numerous MSRP dealers in my search, but those prioritize previous clients with RS cars at the pinnacle generally going to the big spenders.

Yeah, 3 of the 4 DFW dealers are MSRP dealers. That definitely doesn't mean you can get a car, though. As someone else mentioned, your market is an important distinction. Big markets with lots of $$$ around are going to make it harder to get an (MSRP) car locally.

That said, I got my spyder from an ADM dealer for MSRP...but I ordered right before the big ADM wave hit (Summer 2021), and they didn't sell an MSRP spyder afterwards. Economy and market trends are always very important to consider, but if you want to wait for a "down" economy and MSRP, will you still be able to order your "new" car?

No strings attached 50k is not bad. Don't overthink & enjoy the wait

Appreciate it! No regrets here. This was the best I could do after a long search. I have no car to trade in or prior purchase history with Porsche. Heck, if someone has access to these magical low ADM or MSRP cars, Ill wash your car every weekend free till you fancy for saving me that mark up.

Ill definitely be getting my moneys worth out of this car. Road trips, track days, etc. This will not be one of those cars that I look at thinking about future resale value or “market trends”. It will be enjoyed and driven for many years hopefully. Ill be the guinea pig for higher mileage and long term ownership for the cool folks getting allocations at msrp that are too afraid to go over 1k miles and getting a wrinkle in their paint protection film.

Plenty of people paid +$100k for these cars not too long ago. You’re getting a steal!

I’m right there with you for driving it. If I manage a spyder rs, it’s gonna get driven. Resale doesn’t matter when I’m dead.

I paid 40 over. It was worth it. A very fun car to drive. Especially if you can get pts it is a big win. I couldn’t. But am waiting for pts on my gt3rs. Drive it and put a smile on your face.

Delivery of my GT4 RS is around the corner and in the contract package there is a right of first refusal for the dealer: 2 years at the purchase price...
I have no plan on selling it but you never know!
Is that common practice now?

It's not "common" but dealers have asked for that if you got it at MSRP or a small markup. Either in writing or telling you that if you flip it, no more allocations for you.
