Weird - it did.

Article and pics are from 5/13, so same as above. Thanks for the post, though.

Fair enough. Thanks for mentioning what we already knew.

IMHO, that is an inappropriate comparison, are you actually interested in a Spyder?

I find it interesting that 911 owners feel threatened by the 718 platform flexing it muscles... or in this case gaining some!

It better be a "poor man's speedster" or I won't be able to afford one, for sure. lol

Let's hope that production numbers are a little bit higher then what is currently assumed in German carforums.

I for my part am on the reservation list with my local Porsche dealer here in Germany. We'll see what that's worth.

Good luck! I was very early on 4 local dealership’s lists for one (about a year ago), but I’m pretty sure that’s worth nothing, in my case.

You already own the “poor man’s Speedster”…it’s the 718 Spyder.

More apt Spyder RS comparison to 991.2 Speedster is one of supermodel to hunchback of Notre Dame.

The funny thing there is, I would keep my spyder over a speedster, resale value notwithstanding.

Always! I just talked with my dealer about getting the Spyder RS and trading my Spyder...let's see.....

Spyder is much nicer than the Speedster; the back shape is perfect compared to the Speedster (Former owner of a 991.2 GT3, actual owner of a 718 Spyder & 992 GT3, so my real thinking).

Me too, I have no desire to own a Speedster.

Interesting visual you have there, strangely enough on the mark too!

After over 15 years and 6 mid-engine Porsches, friends have finally figured out that I am not going to buy a 911.

No offense meant, I'm spending over $200k on a 4RS because I love the cayman mid engine platform so it's all good. When I say "poorman's Speedster" I'm talking more about price point (about 1/2 the price) and the ability to actually get an allocation since it won't be numbered and only available to the non-mortals.

^^^ OK, I get your reference, I suppose the same could be said about the GT4 RS to the GT3...

My current Spyder rolled out the door for just under $200k taxes in, either 718 RS of a similar build will be a lot more so for me I will be a poor man if I can actually buy one!
