The passenger side mount failed on my 22 Spyder shortly after delivery. Took over a month to get the part in. Night and day difference in feel for me. It felt much softer. Especially shifting with the PDK.

My left mount was replaced today and all was good on the ride home. Will see how long it last.

When PADM fails, is the car still completely drivable except it just doesn't "feel" as good? Can you still drive everything like normal including track days?

I'm guessing in a failed state, the mounts just go full soft or hard - whatever the failure state is.

It defaults to "soft" setting. Completely drivable, and most people it seems don't notice. Maybe it's different for a manual vs PDK as they are technically mounted to the tranny. But it was noticeably softer chassis and shifting with my PDK Spyder.

Welp, the PADM code just happened to me on my way home from the dealership for my 2 year service. 2022 718 Spyder with 5,300 miles. Talked to my service agent and he will contact me to make a plan. I picked my Spyder up right when they closed today so I couldn't do anything about it just yet. Never knew this was an issue until today.

I'm glad the 4RS doesn't have PADM. Failures are way too common.

My 2020 GT4 with 2600 miles had the dreaded PADM message appear during a drive this afternoon. Called the dealer and it goes in next Tuesday for diagnosis / repair. The car has 90 days remaining on the factory warranty with a Porsche extended warranty following for 3 years. Im happy it will be dealt with under the factory warranty. Sounds like an expensive repair based on the other PADM failures posted.

Just had the right hand engine mount replaced in my 2020 GT4. The left hand side was replaced last year. Hopefully the problems are now fixed.

I do wonder what is the cause of the failure. this is something i haven't seen mentioned yet. Is it water ingress?

I believe Porsche has developed caps for PADM mounts on 992. So I would assume water has something to do with it.

My 2020 Spyder with 8K miles on the clock has original PADM mounts.

My 2018 GT3T has one mount replaced from previous owner and the second one failed during the first trackday I took it to (clockwise circuit, left mount failed). Waiting for Porsche dealership to replace it under extended warranty.

Follow up, finally in for mount replacement after waiting 10 months and voila the other has malfunctioned since initial diagnosis. Asked whether the wait time for service may have played into the second mount going? I just got a few shrugs and mmmms not sure about that. I will add that I got a strong sense that this is a well-known fail issue for them. Back in a month for the second replacement. For any Canucks wondering the cost for repair per mount is CAD$2200 plus tax thankfully still under warrant for me.

I'm surprised there are no aftermarket replacement options. I'm sure lots of people would be ok with fixed mounts if they were durable.

Agreed it seems like it's a make work project part and we are the guinea pigs unfortunately. Word to the wise check out extended warranty option's if keeping long term it may come up at some point unfortunately for some. Still love the car 53,310kms later no regrets!

*Update*

Confirmed that it is a bad mount. Dropped off the car this morning. Picked up a loaner 2024 Macan until Thursday or Friday. I plan to drive the same twisty road by my house “hard”’to see the other one gives soon. At 2600 miles I was a little surprised it failed. Service writer acted like it was something he’s never seen. Really???

Unrelated but curious if it happens anyone else. My 2020 has the updated Porsche Car Connect module. Since buying the car new in 2020 my car has alerted me 3 - 4 different times when at the dealership it says the car has been stolen: This time they hadn’t even moved my car. I was waiting for my loaner when I received a phone call & text message. I told the Service Manager as he was involved with all the “false” alerts and he told me it’s been sorted out by Porsche, However, for some reason it happens only at the dealership. One other time I received an alert in the middle of the night but it was in the garage.Had this happened anyone else? I regret updating the PCC service!

Question for those with replaced mounts: Would you keep the car post-warranty?

Some have reported repeated failures. So, this failure might be an ongoing issue, for ever! I'm really surprised so far no after-market passive mounts yet. My plan is to keep both the Spyders for good. But, this failure makes me wonder.....

Thanks.
