After 10 days and 1300 miles in my BGTS I ordered the fabspeed OAPs, a soul valve controller, and BMC filters.
I absolutely love this car with the one major exception being the sound. I knew it wasn’t going to be the 981 sound but I didn’t anticipate disliking the factory setup this much. IMHO the car sounds good up to about 1800rpms around parking lots etc, I like the bit of ticks and intake noises, then again in hard charges over 4000RPM which are a blast, but I want it to sound good while driving normally too, and between the GPFs and factory “open valve” setup - it just doesn’t.
After extensive research I’m confident these improvements will take me in the right direction, but at the same time I’m also a bit disappointed in having to spend money to make not only a Porsche, but a N/A GTS edition sound the way it should out of the factory. This car is meant to be a visceral experience from the jump, how did they miss so badly on such an important aspect of that?

I understand the reason for the GPF and why they have to do things differently than just a straight pipe, but our 21 Macan GTS sounds great, my buddy just got a 22 9114S, also magnificent. I know those are turbos so they can manipulate air flow differently for noise, but I usually don’t like a turbo sound and they’ve certainly figured that out in those cars. Why can’t they on the N/A 4.0?

I created a .ppt slide show, then exported it to video then uploaded to YouTube. The things we do for each other!
This was recorded when I took delivery. There was a crowd gathered around to watch my reaction since they all heard it a few minutes before and thought it was amazing!

Just ordered a valve controller unit to go along with the Akra exhaust. After owning a 981 GT4 & getting used to the awesome sound of that thing, it's been irritating adjusting to "hiccup zone" of the car.
You go for a ride drive with a friend & then have to explain why your > $100K Porsche has indigestion. Spirited drives in the 981 sounded just awesome. Installing the controller is bit of a pain, however will be well worth it.
