I ordered my car (a 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK) in November with an anticipated delivery late April. I managed to dodge the con-rod bullet, phew!, but due to the global semi-conductor shortage delivery was postponed till late July, and now I will finally pick up the car on Monday August 2nd! Jet black metallic with full black leather interior with lots of extras (Swedish list price ~USD 100K + factory added extras for ~USD 25K).

So far I have already got the Porsche black frunk and trunk lid liners, a GT4 PDK stick (looks nicer than the regular 718 PDK stick), a monochrome Porsche hood badge (replacing the coloured Porsche hood badge), black hub caps with the Porsche logo in silver (replacing the satin hub caps with the Porsche logo in colour; matches the black painted brake calipers pretty nice), a Porsche front window sunshade (I managed to get the last available old version with the Porsche logo in black and white, as the newer version only comes with the logo in colour), and a set of H&R wheel spacers (+5 mm in the front, +15 mm in the rear). After taking delivery, I will get a full ceramic coating and tinted rear bumper red reflectors. Also, I was lucky enough to get the Michelin PS4S tyres on the car, so no need to replace those dreaded P-Zero tyres that I was expecting :-).

Things I am still contemplating: A Cargraphic valve control box, a DSC chassis box, an Antigravity H6/Group-48 Lithium battery, and finally (but probably not during the first year) a Stertman stage 1 ECU tune (a Swedish tuner that takes the engine from 400 PS/430 Nm to 440 PS/440 Nm) — unless of course APR comes up with something (I have their stage 1 tune on my Audi RS6 and had it on my stage 2+ VW Golf R, which the GTS is now replacing, and am/was extremely satisfied with that :-).

My spec (converted from the Swedish site to be able to review on the US site): http://www.porsche-code.com/PN3355H2

Hi Dan!

I have the DSC on my Cayman GTS 4.0, and I love it!

When I first got my GTS (which has SPASM) I felt the ride was a bit too much on the firm side. Then I read here that the dealers usually over-inflate the tires, to check that. Sure enough, mine were at 38 cold. I dropped them to 32 cold, and then further to 30 cold, and that made a big difference. And then I added the DSC, and that again made a big improvement. I would say that the DSC in Sport Suspension mode is just a little more firm than what the stock controller was in Normal mode, and that the Normal mode is considerably more compliant than the stock controller's Normal mode. I ride over a LOT of bumpy country roads, and it amazes me how comfortable and compliant it is now. I used it use it about 70% in Normal and 30% in Sport, but honestly for the last while I have just left it in Normal.

That extra compliance sacrifices very little it performance for spirited driving. It does "bounce" a little more over really rough terrain at higher speeds, but manageably so. I will take that over an uncomfortably harsh ride over that same terrain as the alternative. I have referred to it here as a "Magic Carpet Ride" over rough terrain, that about sums it up.

Super easy to install, and I am not even very handy with cars.

I recommend it highly for a GTS!

-Pete

Last week I got my car back from having Expel PPF installed (including paint correction) on full front, mirrors and rear bumper. Premier Protective Coating in Fremont, CA did an incredible job!

Yesterday I applied AMMA Reflex Pro over the entire body. Results are amazing. I highly recommend this product, actually all their products are great. Tire “Mud” works really well too. www.AMMONYC.com.

Today I ordered the Akropovic Titanium slip-on exhaust with black titanium tips. Tips are back ordered for two weeks 😥. Can’t wait to get it installed.

Just had the Spyder dropped off for paint correction, PPF, and ceramic coating, and just maybe, a few stripes here and there.

My car is two months from delivery. Has anyone else jumped the gun on purchases? What have you added to your 718?
i thought the 718 already comes with a rear lid liner? They only sell a frunk lid liner

I buy mine at Lidliner.com, and they can come as a set for front and rear….for the Boxster. The Cayman should only need the front.

i think I figured it out. If you get the Spyder or Boxter you need both the front and rear lid liners. Apparently the Cayman’s (I’m getting the GTS 4.0) already have an OEM rear liner. Therefore, only a front liner is offered aftermarket. Thanks again for your reply.
